Missions

Missions are how Ninja make their money, called Ryu. Ryu can be used to purchase Ninja Points, Reset Tokens, etc-but, possibly more important than the money is the experience missions provide. While promotion is based entirely on character growth, missions are by far the most reliable way to quickly gain Ryu; as such, they are almost essential to promotion. Below is a brief explanation of various mission ranks, how much Ryu each rank earns, and how difficult you can expect each to be.

No more than 5 RPCs (Or Minor ninja) may participate in a normal mission. For each RPC after the first, each member receives a 10% Teamwork Bonus Ryu award on top of that mission's normal amount. (So if your award was 1000 Ryu, and you had 5 RPCs, each member would get an additional 400 Ryu) This bonus does not include Minor ninja in the RPC count.

Conversely, a ninja may attempt a mission on their own. While this makes the mission much more difficult, the payoff is higher as a result-on top of any received bonuses, the participating ninja receives a Solo Mission Bonus equal to 1/4 the mission's typical payoff (so if the mission usually pays 2000, you receive an additional 500 on top of that).

Forum Events will typically not have an assigned rank, and the reward for participating in them will vary by the specific event.

When completing a mission with your squad (either officially applied for or just your genin squad), the following bonuses also apply.

QUOTE
When participating in a mission, crime or event with your entire squad (as a team, not just physically present), you receive additional Ryu upon completion of the RP. This is on top of the benefits listed elsewhere in the Mission and Crime Guide. Specifically:

For every Squad Member who is both present and actively RP'd with (other than your own RPC, of course), you gain the following bonus, dependent upon the rank of the mission:
D-rank - 100 Ryu
C-rank - 200 Ryu
B-rank - 400 Ryu
A-rank - 700 Ryu
S-rank - 1000 Ryu

D-Rank Missions - A team of Academy Students (at least 3) should be able to complete this with some effort, but shouldn't be overwhelmed by it. A single Academy Student, while possibly finding the mission doable, would have to be quite skilled to accomplish it all by his or herself.. These missions tend to be more like chores around the village, such as painting buildings or finding lost pets, and very rarely involve any kind of undue danger. They are meant to build discipline within the ranks of ninja.

- On completion, every participating ninja earns 1000 Ryu. The mission MUST be a success. NPC Staff have the ability to add bonuses on top of the base pay based on quality of the roleplay, combat skill (if combat was performed), the completion of optional objectives, or any other aspect of the mission's completion that the NPCer felt earned a bonus. Each bonus earned in this way may reach UP TO 1/10 of the base pay of the mission, or in this case, 100. ONLY NPC Staff can apply bonuses. Bonuses may be applied even on a mission's failure in some cases.

C-Rank Missions - A team of Genin (at least 3) should be able to complete this with some effort, but may feel overwhelmed by it. A single Genin, while possibly finding the mission doable, would have to be quite exceptional to accomplish it all by his or herself. These missions tend to be low-risk missions with a chance of combat, such as fulfilling bodyguard duties for minor officials or standing guard during events. It is rare, yet still possible, for a Ninja to die during a mission of this rank. These are typically meant to hone a ninja's skills and prepare them for the next rank.

- On completion, every participating ninja earns 2000 Ryu. The mission MUST be a success. NPC Staff have the ability to add bonuses on top of the base pay based on quality of the roleplay, combat skill (if combat was performed), the completion of optional objectives, or any other aspect of the mission's completion that the NPCer felt earned a bonus. Each bonus earned in this way may reach UP TO 1/10 of the base pay of the mission, or in this case, 200. ONLY NPC Staff can apply bonuses. Bonuses may be applied even on a mission's failure in some cases.

B-Rank Missions - A team of Chuunin (at least 3) should be able to complete this with some effort, but may be overwhelmed by it. A single Chuunin, while possibly finding the mission doable, would have to be markedly exceptional to accomplish it all by his or herself. These missions tend to pose some risk to those performing them, such as hunting down a criminal or guarding against a suspected attack, though missions of particular importance may still be B-rank without requiring combat, such as diplomatic or recovery missions. Ninja sometimes die during missions of this type. These missions actually serve the village in a significant fashion, rather than simply being things the village was paid to do.

- On completion, every participating ninja earns 4000 Ryu. The mission MUST be a success. NPC Staff have the ability to add bonuses on top of the base pay based on quality of the roleplay, combat skill (if combat was performed), the completion of optional objectives, or any other aspect of the mission's completion that the NPCer felt earned a bonus. Each bonus earned in this way may reach UP TO 1/10 of the base pay of the mission, or in this case, 400. ONLY NPC Staff can apply bonuses. Bonuses may be applied even on a mission's failure in some cases.

A-Rank Missions - A team of Jounin (at least 3) should be able to complete this with some effort, and even then may only complete it through extreme measures. A single Jounin, while possibly finding the mission doable, would have to be incredibly gifted to accomplish it all by his or herself. These missions tend to be high risk missions of great importance to the village, such as the defeat of a powerful enemy, a wartime operation, or the defense of the village during a legitimate attack. Missions of this rank are almost expected to produce casualties. These missions serve the village in a very important manner, and their failure could mean a great deal of hardship for the village itself.

- On completion, every participating ninja earns 7000 Ryu. The mission MUST be a success. NPC Staff have the ability to add bonuses on top of the base pay based on quality of the roleplay, combat skill (if combat was performed), the completion of optional objectives, or any other aspect of the mission's completion that the NPCer felt earned a bonus. Each bonus earned in this way may reach UP TO 1/10 of the base pay of the mission, or in this case, 700. ONLY NPC Staff can apply bonuses. Bonuses may be applied even on a mission's failure in some cases.

S-Rank Missions - A team of Sei Jounin (at least 3) may be able to complete this with a great deal of effort, but are equally expected to fail. A single Sei Jounin, while possibly finding the mission doable, would have to be truly legendary to accomplish it all by his or herself. These missions tend to be near suicidal missions of utmost importance to the village-attacking a foe that could devastate the entire village, for example, or leading an assault against a Kage-level ninja. Missions of this rank are regarded as nearly suicidal, though their importance cannot be understated-entire countries may depend on the outcome of these missions.

- On completion, every participating ninja earns 10000 Ryu. The mission MUST be a success. NPC Staff have the ability to add bonuses on top of the base pay based on quality of the roleplay, combat skill (if combat was performed), the completion of optional objectives, or any other aspect of the mission's completion that the NPCer felt earned a bonus. Each bonus earned in this way may reach UP TO 1/10 of the base pay of the mission, or in this case, 1000. ONLY NPC Staff can apply bonuses. Bonuses may be applied even on a mission's failure in some cases.

Crimes

Crimes are to Rogue Ninja what Missions are to official Ninja. A crime is an illegal activity in which one is paid. It IS possible for a crime to exist that is not necessarily evil in nature-Rogue Ninja themselves completing the task with unsanctioned Ninja abilities is what makes it a crime, in that particular case. For the sake of simplicity, however, all examples given below will be of actual crimes.

No more than 5 RPCs (Or Minor ninja) may participate in a normal crime. For each RPC after the first, each member receives a 10% Teamwork Bonus Ryu award on top of that crime's normal amount. (So if your award was 1000 Ryu, and you had 5 RPCs, each member would get an additional 400 Ryu) This bonus does not include Minor ninja in the RPC count.

Forum Events will typically not have an assigned rank, and the reward for participating in them will vary by the specific event.

D-Rank Crimes - A team of D-ranked Rogue Ninja (at least 3) should be able to complete this with some effort, but shouldn't be overwhelmed by it. A single D-ranked Rogue, while possibly finding the crime doable, would have to be quite skilled to accomplish it all by his or herself. These crimes tend to be minor offenses, the like of which may not warrant more than a few days of investigation-vandalization, petty theft, or things of that nature. These crimes are typically performed to stay alive or to start a small reputation more than to make any real kind of mark on the world. There is only the very slightest chance of personal harm during these crimes.

- On completion, every participating ninja earns 1000 Ryu. The crime MUST be a success. NPC Staff have the ability to add bonuses on top of the base pay based on quality of the roleplay, combat skill (if combat was performed), the completion of optional objectives, or any other aspect of the crime's completion that the NPCer felt earned a bonus. Each bonus earned in this way may reach UP TO 1/10 of the base pay of the crime, or in this case, 100. ONLY NPC Staff can apply bonuses. Bonuses may be applied even on a crime's failure in some cases.

C-Rank Crimes - A team of C-ranked Rogue Ninja (at least 3) should be able to complete this with some effort, but may feel overwhelmed by it. A single C-ranked Rogue, while possibly finding the crime doable, would have to be quite exceptional to accomplish it all by his or herself. These tend to be somewhat minor crimes, but may still be considered felonies. Assault, robbing a store, or minor acts of piracy may constitute a crime of this level. These crimes are typically performed once a Rogue has established themselves in an area. There is a slight risk of harm inherent in these crimes, usually coming from the person being wronged.

- On completion, every participating ninja earns 2000 Ryu. The crime MUST be a success. NPC Staff have the ability to add bonuses on top of the base pay based on quality of the roleplay, combat skill (if combat was performed), the completion of optional objectives, or any other aspect of the crime's completion that the NPCer felt earned a bonus. Each bonus earned in this way may reach UP TO 1/10 of the base pay of the crime, or in this case, 200. ONLY NPC Staff can apply bonuses. Bonuses may be applied even on a crime's failure in some cases.

B-Rank Crimes - A team of B-ranked Rogue Ninja (at least 3) should be able to complete this with some effort, but may be overwhelmed by it. A single B-ranked Rogue, while possibly finding the crime doable, would have to be markedly exceptional to accomplish it all by his or herself. These crimes tend to be major felonies, and may include acts such as murder, maiming, or undermining government activities. B-ranked crimes pose some risk to the committer, as they tend to be both dangerous and highly illegal, often attracting legal attention.

- On completion, every participating ninja earns 4000 Ryu. The crime MUST be a success. NPC Staff have the ability to add bonuses on top of the base pay based on quality of the roleplay, combat skill (if combat was performed), the completion of optional objectives, or any other aspect of the crime's completion that the NPCer felt earned a bonus. Each bonus earned in this way may reach UP TO 1/10 of the base pay of the crime, or in this case, 400. ONLY NPC Staff can apply bonuses. Bonuses may be applied even on a crime's failure in some cases.

A-Rank Crimes - A team of A-ranked Rogue Ninja (at least 3) should be able to complete this with some effort, and even then may only complete it through extreme measures. A single A-ranked Rogue, while possibly finding the crime doable, would have to be incredibly gifted to accomplish it all by his or herself. These crimes tend to be high risk ventures, usually focused on assassinating a high-ranking government official or a powerful ninja. Village attacks may also claim this rank of crime if they are somewhat minor in scope. These crimes carry a great deal of risk in their completion, and it is quite common for a Rogue to meet his end during a crime of this rank.

- On completion, every participating ninja earns 7000 Ryu. The crime MUST be a success. NPC Staff have the ability to add bonuses on top of the base pay based on quality of the roleplay, combat skill (if combat was performed), the completion of optional objectives, or any other aspect of the crime's completion that the NPCer felt earned a bonus. Each bonus earned in this way may reach UP TO 1/10 of the base pay of the crime, or in this case, 700. ONLY NPC Staff can apply bonuses. Bonuses may be applied even on a crime's failure in some cases.

S-Rank Crimes - A team of S-ranked Rogue Ninja (at least 3) may be able to complete this with a great deal of effort, but are equally expected to fail. A single S-ranked Rogue, while possibly finding the crime doable, would have to be truly legendary to accomplish it all by his or herself. These crimes tend to be considered nearly suicidal, especially when conducted alone, as they typically involve pitting oneself against a much greater force than one might expect, such as an entire village or a Kage. Entire countries may fall if these crimes are accomplished.

- On completion, every participating ninja earns 10000 Ryu. The crime MUST be a success. NPC Staff have the ability to add bonuses on top of the base pay based on quality of the roleplay, combat skill (if combat was performed), the completion of optional objectives, or any other aspect of the crime's completion that the NPCer felt earned a bonus. Each bonus earned in this way may reach UP TO 1/10 of the base pay of the crime, or in this case, 1000. ONLY NPC Staff can apply bonuses. Bonuses may be applied even on a crime's failure in some cases.
