Straight from the bat, the chuunin wanted to end things with physical overpowering force compared to whittling away at his own chakra and stamina. While this might be the best chance Keiko has at surprising him with her bloodline, she didn't know the full extent of his abilities. If the chance that he was still superior to her even with her bloodline activated and he was able to escape and tell the clan leader, she could kiss her butt good bye. The whole clan would know of her Shikotsumyaku ability and would most likely be targeted for death because of it.

Making the decision to keep it hidden for now, she activated her bone strengthening ability to its maximum limit. The bone armor that lies just beneath her skin got a reinforcement in their durability. Because of the density of the bone, it caused an increase in weight to her overall body as well as a decrease in agility in speed. While normally this would bother her, the Kaguya felt the necessity to have the added protection just in case. Better to be safe than sorry.

Kinji jumped in and punched with his fist. What was surprising wasn't the fact that he threw a punch at her, but the fact that he wasn't close enough for her to get hit by it yet. However, what came out of his fist was a ball of air similar to the Air Bullets that he launched from his mouth. These ones span with the tornado-like qualities, probably enhancing its damage as well. It sped towards the girl who just had enough time to parry the attack to the side. Her arm felt hurt but the bone inside remained intact. Good.

Kinji quickly closed the distance after his initial surprise attack and performed a series of attacks that were aimed at major locations. Head, arms, legs, stomach, he didn't leave much behind in terms of where to attack. Each strike had a specific purpose to disable a particular limb or to cause major injury to her body itself. Each blow was deflected while Keiko herself struck back at him aiming for specific chakra points all over the body.

It was rather difficult however to actually get a hit in; the chuunin's twisted and turned to attack from several angles. This was all for the purpose of realizing his current strength capacity. Once she got a good gist of where he lies compared to her, the Kaguya girl would immediately strike back with a single blow.

Thanks to her 'Tungsten Bones' that enabled her to have greater defensive abilities, Keiko suffered little damage to her body aside from surface wounds. After becoming bloodied enough to know that this was the capacity of his limit, the girl backed off and Kawarimi'd onto the branch of a tree. In her place was a log that was thoroughly demolished. She jumped down onto the ground and flipped through hand seals for a single Flamespike jutsu that was bigger and stronger than the normal fireball. Her arm would be enveloped in fire as she ran towards Kinji. The traitor did the same and sprinted towards the girl.

The two were running towards each other at a speed pretty much unattainable to the normal person, their hands enveloped in wind and fire. Just before making contact, Keiko roared while sending her fist out to Kinji, her enlarged Flamespike shooting out to the chuunin. Similarly, the traitor had shot his tornado-engulfed fist at the younger Kaguya, the two opposing forces colliding in a brilliant explosion of fire. Heat spread out in all directions, forcing her to squint slightly. This did not stop her from moving forward with her end game.

The girl continued running forward into the explosion, disregarding any burns and tears her body would accumulate as she shot chakra through her arm, hands, and fingers. She suddenly appeared right in front of Kinji, who didn't expect to see Keiko appear. He blocked his face and body with his tornado-like arms. She punched through the swirling torrent of air and opened her fist to his chest. In an instant, five projectiles shot out of her hands and struck his chest, piercing his skin and tearing open the superior and inferior vena cava, the aorta, and his lungs.

Stunned by the newly discovered fact of the younger Kaguya, Kinji's jutsu dissipated and his arms hung limply by his sides.

"You've got.. our clan's.."

He spat a mouth full of blood as he coughed, the immense pain that originally started in his chest now spread throughout his entire body.

Keiko, bruised, battered, and burnt, decided, in the end, to hold her fellow clansmen upright in her arms, small tears appearing from the corner of her eyes.

She watched on as the light quickly faded from his eyes and came to the realization that she had killed someone for the first time. His body was originally warm at first but the heat slowly began to disappear with him. Keiko slowly released her grip on Kinji and laid him flat on the ground and began crying out loud. She didn't know what to do. The Kaguya came here to apprehend the elder but in the end, killed his son instead.

The very next instant, an Akuma the size of a bear came crashing towards her. It swiped at her with its paw and sent the girl flying backward, her body spiraling out of control. Even with her hardened bones enveloping the inner layer of her skin, she felt the contact area crack immensely from the force as she crashed through branches and leaves before coming to a stop several dozen meters away. Blood poured out from her stomach and Keiko gripped her wound in pain. She focused chakra into her injury, forcefully closing the wound with newly created bones. While this was only a temporary measure, she knew that she needed medical treatment soon.

The demon was humanoid in appearance, with the body of a monkey and the face of a fox. Its hands were giant paws with inch-long claws attached. Earlier, it had encountered the Kaguya elder and Keiko's clone, Keiku. They were battling it out and the Akuma bided its time until it would be able to kill the humans. When the opportune time came, the Akuma immediately came out of hiding, swiping at Keiku with its paw. Keiku vanished with only specks of fire to remember her by. It quickly charged at Kinryu and after several minutes, rendered him lifeless. The Kaguya's body was impaled with a broken branch stuck through his stomach.

After hearing more commotion going on in another part of the forest, it finally spotted Keiko with Kinji.

She had to escape. That was the only option. This was her first time meeting an Akuma up close and Keiko was terrified. Just its shape alone caused fear to appear deep within her body. Trying to control her emotions so she could think rationally, the Kaguya's immediate thought was to run. She forced herself to her feet and began running, moving between trees to try to make the fox bear lose her trail.

Keiko heard the thumping and crunching of the Akuma's feet on the ground as well as the broken branches that it would leave in its wake as the demon chased her down. Closer and closer it got until it was almost on top of her.

Think. Think!!

As she dashed forward, she created a Flamespike in her hand and sent it towards the Akuma's face. Without as much as a blink, it took the hit and continued forwards chasing after her. It swiped its gigantic paw at her when Keiko was within distance, trying to end the chase and put an end to her life. Right when he made contact with her, he felt the crunching sound as the figure got swatted to the side. However, what he had hit was a large log of wood rather than the Kaguya he was intending to hit. The girl had performed Kawarimi at the last second and switched places with a log. Keiko was successfully hidden on a tree branch that the Akuma passed about 8 meters away.

Out of the five scenarios that played in her mind, one seemed plausible enough to work. Just in case, she had a back up plan to that that would allow her to get away. Despite the aching feeling in her stomach and back, Keiko pushed through the pain and began dashing the opposite direction as swiftly and quietly as possible. She made a few hand seals, creating an identical copy of herself right next to her, who came in running in tandem.

"Here's my plan.."

The Akuma growled and turned around trying to search for his missing prey. It spotted Keiko tens of meters away fleeting past the treeline. It gave chase once more, bent on making sure to not lose track of the human ever again.

Keiku gave the demon in the distance a shot of her Sakki, or Killing Intent, whilest still running away. Just before the time the Akuma saw her clone, Keiko had finished relaying her plan and hid herself high up in a tree using a mixture of Ki Nobori and Kakuremino no Jutsu. Trying to blend into the bark would prove to be a bit worse than normal but because of her high position, it wouldn't be too obvious at first glance should the demon look upwards. Meanwhile, her clone's job was to distract the fox bear and drag the Akuma away from her. The best effective range for her clone was about one kilometer.

Keiku being the most talented amongst her clones, was given 40% of her remaining chakra to utilize techniques and jutsu along the way to keep the demon concentrated on her and not on the real human.

The tree swayed violently as the Akuma shot past her from below, charging towards Keiku in the distance. A small gap in the cloth she used to protect herself revealed part of Keiko's body before 'vanishing' once more.

Her heart was pounding against her chest. With her left hand, she clutched her robe in an attempt to calm her fear but it only granted more pain in her body. Keiko had experienced her first great injury and she didn't know how to react to the situation. She knew she had to stay calm but her mind was racing with thoughts and the wild imaginations of several gruesome deaths that could happen to her because of the Akuma.

Even though her stomach wound has been sealed with a layer of thin bone, small globules of her blood could be seen leaking from the damaged skin. Paying it no heed, Keiko focused solely on her escape. Keiku was doing a great job distracting the Akuma and leading it away from her. Her clone used several jutsu, from using Flamespike's explosive power to her bloodline's Teshi Sendan to even using Basic jutsu like Shunshin, Chouyaku, and Ki Nobori. Several combinations of jutsu were used together continuously in succession, which quickly dried up her chakra reserves. However, her purpose was to distract the fox bear and lead him away from the original. Although she hated losing, it was something she was always willing to do if it meant to save her original.

The Kaguya took the time to jump down quietly and headed in the opposite direction, using a combination of Chouyaku and Ki Nobori to keep her feet from touching the ground. Should the Akuma come back and try to find her trail, then Keiku's sacarifice would be in vain.

She ran, ran, and ran. Along the way, she heard the sound of a distant explosion and a roar coming from the Akuma that was chasing Keiku. Once the distance between the two was about a kilometer away, Keiku the clone pulled off a short act of making a mistake leading the Fox Bear demon towards her as hate and bloodlust filled its eyes. It knew that his target had made a mistake and the Akuma quickly capitalized on the opportunity, closing in onto the clone. Once it was within melee range, it swiped its paws fully expecting to see a dead Kaguya slamming against the trees but alas...

Hence the explosion and roar. Welp. It got even more mad if that was possible. Meanwhile, a kilometer away...

The scenes of a battle opened up in front of her. While broken branches and scattered blood was present in patches, the most notable was the dead body with part of a tree branch stuck through its stomach. This was Kinryu Kaguya, the traitorous elder who she was supposed to capture alive. While clutching her stomach, she approached the elder, rummaging through his clothes and belongings to find something. For some fuuinjutsu, she used his blood, swiped it over the seal, and used Fuuinjutsu Kai to release its contents. One of these seals revealed a scroll. Keiko opened it just a bit and found what she had needed. She took it as well as a few other things and left him hanging. She was in no mood for feeling sad about him at all.

Keiko had stumbled upon a hiding spot that she could use to rest and recoup while staying hidden. A small cave jutted out of the ground. Although it was 'small' it was the size of a house and about two houses deep. So maybe not soo small after all. However, the entrance was smaller than the interior so that was probably why it looked soo hidden. Bits of rubble and branches littered the area near the entrance, which led the Kaguya to feeling a bit suspicious. As she entered, she immediately noticed that something was wrong. The smell of blood was in the air.

Intent on not revealing her position, she activated a small Firefly and sent it towards the ceiling of the cave, illuminating the interior. What she saw horrified her. Bloodied fur, Dismembered limbs, and the pools of blood that was left behind almost made Keiko gag. It was a one-sided massacre it seemed like.

She took a few steps into the cave and only finally realized the whimpering she could hear near the back of the cave. Her eyes were wide open as she created another Firefly and sent it over. Her steps were silent and not a sound was heard as she continued walking slowly. As soon as the light brightened up the back with a soft white glow, Keiko saw what was making the noise. A small fox was curled up between the carcass of an adult fox, possibly its mother. It was mewling in sorrow, its head curled up against the dead carcass of its mother's bloodied stomach.

The Kaguya approached softly, her heart feeling pain at the sight. In the midst of death, life, struggling to hang on and survive. Keiko felt compelled to at least save this young fox from a cruel fate. The girl knelt down and stroked the poor baby trying to console the young pup. She loosened her own robe to create some space for the baby to enter before tying off the bottom with some extra string she had stashed away. The baby was no more than a foot long. Although her fur was bloody, it was originally white, which was a color one would normally not see on a fox. She slowly picked up the cub who cried in protest and placed her inside the warmth of her clothing. Keiko surmised the situation after looking.

The Fox Bear entered this cave probably searching for something to eat and encountered the family of foxes here. The rest was just a massacre, killing everything and everyone and eating them as food. The sounds caused by Keiko, Kinji, and Kinryu outside must have led the Akuma outside to see the commotion.

Was this little fox's fate and Keiko's intertwined? Was it because she had fought the traitors here in the region of Yamagakure that this sole survivor was still alive? If so, she needed to protect the child and let her grow big and strong. The Kaguya snuffed out the fireflies she left inside the cave as she exited, making sure to check to see if the coast was clear. Only after confirming it was did she exit the cave and gracefully run in the same direction as before, fleeing the Akuma.

The Bear could only howl in anger at its lost prey. It really wanted to kill all humans, but one had managed to escape. Another roar echoed throughout the region. By the time the Akuma returned back to the cave, Keiko and the fox would be long gone.

The Kaguya needed medical assistance. As soon as possible. The best place she could think of was a village in or near Yamagakure, but she didn't know the exact location. However, if she returned back to Akarigakure, she might succumb to her injuries and die in the desert. Not wanting that to happen, she steeled herself and mentally prepared the possible outcomes of her actions.

She trudged along, the forest getting thicker and more dense the higher she went. As long as she continued going up, she would probably be able to see her surroundings and possibly spot a village. Keiko had no choice but to blindly move forwards, her stomach aching in pain at the Akuma's attack earlier. Although the surface wound was patched up rather quickly, the internal bleeding caused by the ruptured stomach was a tad bit much. One could guess how stomach acid would affect the surrounding tissue. Yeah, not a good image. It didn't feel quite good either.

The teenager could only bear with the pain as she took step by step forwards. After a while, the forest cleared out and about several meters away stood a small gated village. Keiko barely managed to get to the gate before collapsing in front.

Closed

[It would take about 8 months or so before Keiko returns back to Akarigakure.]
