They were the talk of the town. All throughout Akarigakure, people talked about their upcoming performance. They were slowly becoming popular and a favorite amongst the townspeople. Today, several fliers were scattered in the village: at the bar, on the walls of buildings, even in a pile inside the ninja academy. That was where Keiko of the Kaguya first found out about these two 'celebrities'. She grabbed a single piece from the stack and read it quickly. Emerald eyes scanned the paper and what popped out to her was the fact that the two twins on the front cover were almost her age.

"For being soo young and to be already popular, wow.."

At the bottom of the paper was a date and time written in very cute font that appealed to the young teenager. She most definitely wanted to go see them. Tightening her grip on the flier until it almost crumpled, Keiko skipped out of the Academy and into the streets of Akarigakure, her attitude clearly positive and happy.

"Two Dezaki siblings. The Dezaki twins." She squealed. "I can't wait!"

The muted presence of an armed woman a few feet behind Sakura put a spike in her heart rate, her face scrunching up in annoyance beneath her deep baggy hood that masked her identity. She continued to walk through the streets of Akarigakure unfazed by the woman stalking her every move, making no effort to interact or shake the being, accepting that it simply was what it was.

Every footstep heard made her roll her eyes slightly, a significant difference from her own silent footfall, especially as she was taking every precaution to slip through the crowds unnoticed.

A poster peeled away from its wall and floated towards the ground on her left, her sapphire eyes darting to observe before she plucked it out of the air with a single thrust. The paper crumpled up roughly as her slender fingers wrapped around it. Taking the rough paper in both hands, she unfolded it to reveal a flyer for her own performance, the peppy image of Akeno and herself front and center. A soft arc rose across her lips as her heart beat heavily in her chest, she had never expected to see the two of them plastered on walls or performing for a whole village, this was all something like a young teenage dream that she was living.

Carefully, she stuck the poster back to the wall in its original spot, placing the palm of her hand on her heart and wishing for it to remain there until the show was done.

"Only one more day.
One final rehearsal."

Sakura closed her eyes took a deep breath as she thought about the upcoming show, taking a single moment to slow it all down and soak in her surroundings. A small breeze ruffled the fur on the rim of her hood as it bought the scent of the trees surrounding the village, serenity swept over her just like the wind itself.
As the moment passed, she revealed the blue orbs once more and continued her path, quietly whistling away her latest tune that she hoped to use as an encore with Akeno's permission.

Every once and a while Akeno found herself parted from her sister. Claims of danger the two would fall into if they were together in the village, walking with security. It was too noticeable, and drew too much attention. Today was such a day, but with the quiet, stern woman not being much for conversation the child found herself growing in boredom. There was no real need for them to shield themselves from their fans. Truly it was a tragedy.

Which is precisely why Akeno made quick steps to ditch her escort in the busy streets and wander about on her own. She knew she’d find her eventually, but the moments of freedom before she was whisked away for the last rehearsal would be worth it. There was a skip to her step and a hidden smile, masked away by the shadows of the baggy hood pulled up over her head. One part habit, one part comfort. When she wasn’t performing she preferred larger clothing. Sleeves that extended to just before her fingers, pants that fit at the waist, but had extra room for maximum mobility and comfort.

Her steps were quick and graceful as she half danced through the scores of people in the village. She was carefree at the moment, the dreadful sounds of someone stomping behind her was far off at this precise time. She paused for a moment, her crystal like gaze catching on something adhering to the adjacent wall. With a tilt of her head and a grin to match suit, she found herself looking upon the poster for their upcoming show. They had just a single rehearsal left! Then they would blow their fans away with their talent, and a few new tunes they’d just crafted.

Akeno hummed one in her head, one that her sister had created that had a catchy beat and was great for dancing. Confusion briefly filtered across the adolescent’s visage when her humming grew louder and sounded like it was coming from off to the side. “Eh…?” The blonde turned her head, just in time to see her sister, along with her dreary dread guard. “Uh oh…” She sounded off quietly to herself, trying to back pedal away from the approaching duo. Alas, fate would not be on her side and she’d stagger her way directly into a stranger. Whoops

Along the way, Keiko bought curry from a stand. The smell enticed her too much and the steam that was rising up into the air only further spurred the girl into becoming a foodie. She ended up carrying a small plate filled with rice and curry. The girl would quickly turn to find a place to sit down to enjoy her meal and-

Whoops

Her plate of curry went flying into the air as she collided with a hooded villager.

"Oof!" Keiko planted her foot down behind her to prevent her from falling over, then quickly attempted to catch the Identified Flying Object, aka IFO, aka Curry, while making sure that Akeno would not be caught in its crossfire. She wasn't able to catch the curry so she settled on protecting the slightly smaller female. With a splat, it landed on the floor and a small tear fell from her right eye.

"Are you okay?" Keiko would ask Akeno, stepping back to give her space while eyeing the sloppy brown mess that used to be her curry.

Sakura tilted her head as she heard upbeat humming from the street she was emerging out into. Her features fell serious for a moment as she tried to remember where it was from and then broke outright into a sunny grin as she remembered that it was her own. Nodding once as a confirmation, scanning the hustle and bustle ahead, she saw Akeno alone in the street, broken away from the security that has been ‘covertly’ following them. Raising her hand towards the sky, she waved in big arcs in Akeno’s direction as she accelerated her pace towards her twin, ignoring the fact that they weren’t supposed to meet in public today and the fact that Akeno was already backpedalling.

“HIIIIIIIII!!!!!”

And then, collision point.
Time slowed down around Sakura as the curry flew through the air, allowing her moments of appreciation for the decision making prowess of Keiko in the heat of the moment. It was all rather impressive really, admiration crossing her face during the moment, a moment that Keiko would never see due to the Currocalypse occurring in front of her. Needless to say, Sakura did not act, instead she chuckled slightly off to the side of them. Schadenfreude indeed.

SPLAT.

Once it was all over, Sakura hopped in and raised a slender finger to Keiko’s eye, wiping away the shed tear with a tender, angelic smile. Raising her head to give her newfound acquaintance some face time with the Dezaki twins, if perhaps, she recognised them.

“Well look at what a mess you pair have made!
That looked so good as well. How about we all go and get some more?”

Her attention switched from the curry disaster to her handler as she glanced over her right shoulder. On a more busy street, the woman was harder to spot but the looming presence was still around, Sakura didn’t feel the need to break away for freedom like her twin. As the pair locked eyes, the woman gave a curt nod of confirmation to the adolescent.
Swivelling her gaze back around to the pair of girls in front of her, she placed a hand on each of their shoulders and gave them a gentle push in the direction of the food stall.

“Come on. Let’s go.”

A few things happened in succession, and before she knew it, her arms were flying up to protect her head as she listened to the curry disaster unfold next to her. The soft laughter of her sister was the signal that the fiasco has mostly ended. A sigh slipped over her lips and she pivoted to face the strange who she bumped into. She offered her a sheepish smile and muttered, “I’m alright.” Her hand reached up around her head, rubbing it in embarrassment. “Sorry…”

She turned her head and stuck her tongue out at her sister who had commented on the mess that she’d been a part of. It wasn’t her fault, well – it wasn’t all her fault. There was plenty of blame to be passed around right now. Though, being the kind, generous young lady she was – she would let it go. She would even go so far as to accompany the other two, and their own escorts, for more of that formerly delicious curry.

She slipped out from under her sister’s grip on her shoulder, instead opting to link arms with her twin and snuggle in closer to her as they walked. A smile spread across her face, beaming with excitement. “It seems that my mess scored me some grade A quality time with my favorite little sister.” She turned to the stranger, who she hadn’t introduced herself, or asked for her name. “And… ruined someone’s lunch – but we’re making that up now for... uuhhh..” She tilted her head to the side, trying to look at the other girl who was about the same height as the twins. “What’s your name?”

My curry. I just bought it..

QUOTE
Rest in Peace
Curry from the Curry Stand
December 2017 - December 2017.
You will be forever loved. Although you only lived for a few seconds, it was those few seconds that will last an eternity in my heart. Or at least until I get my next curry, but that's beside the point.

Keiko could already picture the words on the tombstone should it ever be made in honor of such a perfect dish. The tear that left her eye and started rolling down her face was wiped away by another person. The girl looked up at another hooded villager who looked relatively the same as the first that she bumped into. Keiko tilted her head. Do they look familiar?

The Kaguya girl made a facial expression that was between a sad frown and a hopeful smile while returning the kind gesture made by Sakura with a nod. She also nodded at Akeno who apologized for Keiko's own mistake. These two are soo humble, she thought. When the newer villager offered to go get more curry for the three of them, Keiko smiled gingerly.

"That's okay.. my name is.. Keiko." She took a quick look back down at her fallen comrade before turning back around to the curry stand just a meter away.

The look on the stand owner's face as the whole drama played out in front of her was one of disappointment. Because of one person's mistake, one of her own curry creations was splattered all over the ground. Because of that though, she would get two more additional customers to buy her food. The curry owner shrugged and proceeded to make three more of the curry dishes that enticed Keiko in the first place. When finished, she placed them down in front of each person, each dish looking identical to the one next to it.

Keiko dug deep into her pouch to procure more coins for payment and handed them over to the female owner.

With the appearance of Akeno’s cute as a button pokey tongue face, Sakura couldn’t help herself but respond in kind, the joy that the pair had reunited today captured subtly in all of her facial features, warmth radiating from her soul. A short mock-exasperated sigh erupted from her lips as her sister initiated the link, the younger girls arm loosening up to allow her to hook in as Sakura remembered that Akeno was definitely the more feminine styled one out of the two of them.

“I suppose it does feel good to disobey instructions doesn’t it?
Shouldn’t you be setting a better example to your little sister?”

Her lips cracked further into a eaming sunshine filled grin as she playfully chastised her twin for being such a naughty girl on the eve of their concert. Moving her free hand swiftly to jab Akeno lightly between the ribs before pulling her back in close if she distanced herself from the poke.

“And I think you mean S rank quality time!”

Her visual attention returned back to the non-Dezaki girl, she could ‘feel’ Akeno’s wavelength, so it made sense to make Keiko feel part of the conversation. Hoping that their radiance would cause that gingerness to dissipate.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you Keiko.
I’m Sakura, and this sweetheart is Akeno!”

She made a silent tada with her lips as she showed off her older sister. Sakura offered the slightly taller girl her free arm to join the chain if she desired and regardless of if she took it or not, began skipping towards the food stall that they were all aiming for.

~~

As Keiko went to pull payment from her pouch, Sakura placed her hand gently on Keiko to stop the action in its tracks and placed enough currency on the stall table to pay for the three of them. As long as nobody questioned where all this money came from, she wouldn’t have to worry about explaining the tedious in’s and out’s of it.

“Our treat.”

The girl took a glance down at the curry that had been presented to her, then glanced at the other two identical curries. Back down to hers, and then back up to the adorable company that lady luck had shuffled into her way. Without warning, she dug straight into her meal, spilling some sauce down the front of her as she ate. Sakura looked up to check whether anyone had noticed, to which it was inevitable, and tittered at her little curry accident.

“Well, I guess it doesn’t help not to be the graceful one.”

Akeno shied away from the finger that poked at her side, half a hop only to be tugged back in by her sister. “I think I do a fine job of being a good example of what you’re not to do.” She beamed a smile to her sister as she cozied up besides her again. Her crystal-like gaze shifted back to the stranger who had introduced herself as Keiko. Sakura exchanged pleasantries and Akeno nodded along with them. When her sister introduced her, she curtsied and extended her free hand to the side wiggling her fingers to play off her sister.

The sisters and company would frolic their way towards the curry stand, Akeno sliding into a seat beside her sister. Her eyes eagerly looked over the food that was placed before them, her stomach rumbling slightly with delight. “Yes, I insist,” Akeno chirped when Sakura insisted that the twins pay for the food. “I did ruin your meal afterall.” She wrinkled her nose, pressing her lips together before casting a sad look to the remains of the curry scattered across the floor. She turned back and Sakura was paying for the treat, so Akeno wasted not another minute before diving into the food herself.

She came away clean, something her sister couldn’t quite claim for herself. Grabbing hold of napkin near by she started to dab at the curry before it stained her clothing. “Tsk, tsk – well – we each have our talents. I just happen to wield utensils better than you.” Once satisfied she’d done the best of taking care of her sister, she reached up and poked her cheek. She wiggled side to side in her seat before leaning forward so she could look at the girl who was a smidge taller than the twins. “Soo, Keiko – what do you like to do for fun?” The words tumbled out of her mouth with ease, uncaring of the watchful gaze of their entourage. She was curious as to what a normal girl spent her time with. As the idol twins had a fun life, but carefully monitored life at that.

The interaction between the two kawaii villagers was enough to put a smile on young Keiko's face. It was always a good feeling when everyone else is happy.

When they decided forcefully that the Kaguya was not to pay for her meal, she graciously thanked them for the 'offer' and waited patiently for one of them to take the first bite. Sakura, or at least that's what she remembered this one as, dug in first without a moment's notice and Akeno followed suit. Seeing them eating it just as enthusiastically as she would have put an ever bigger smile on her face, her teeth showing its pearly whites.

She clapped her hands together and spoke out in a loud voice, "Thank you for the food!"

Keiko took the spoon that was set on the table and began to scoop an even portion of rice and sauce before popping it into her mouth.

"MmmmmMMMMmmMM~!!"

No other words or sounds were needed to express the happiness that came from her. After a while, the older of the two wiped clean the mouth of the younger and an inaudible 'awhhh..' left her mouth. Keiko had a sibling too, although he was younger, a tad bit rude, and entitled. She still loved him nonetheless. Sibling love is always kawaii.

Akeno asked Keiko a question that brought pause to her eating. After thinking for a while, she looked back at the two siblings. "I really enjoy learning new things. I recently learned the basic jutsu taught at the Academy and I've spent a great deal of time at the library reading about anything and everything." http://files.b1.jcink.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif *niko*

Sakura mimicked Keiko’s vocalisations over the enjoyment of her food, closing her eyes and taking in all of the sensations that the curry provided. The spice burst across her tongue, each taste bud lighting up in satisfaction, bringing all the individual tastes into one mouthful of perfect happiness. This was just what she needed the day before the show, something tasty good. She thought back to all the bland, safe food she had endured for other shows and was silently thankful to her guards for allowing this moment.

Upon opening her eyes again, she found herself being ‘assaulted’ by her sister with a napkin, dabbing at her clothes to rid Sakura of the dropped curry and eventually poking her in the cheek.
“Thanks for your help cleaning up.”
The singer puffed her cheeks as she stroked downward over her clothing, straightening it all out after the mess that Akeno had proudly made of her whilst cleaning. Quickly she poked her tongue out at her sister as she leaned forward to speak to Keiko on the other side of her, before returning back to the meal that she had not completed yet.

Sakura was happy that Akeno had been the one to start the conversation, she had always been better at the social side of life, even if it did sometimes result in the younger twin having to play the rock for her older sister. She clapped excitedly at Keiko’s reply, having mentioned the academy, being one of the topics that the Dezaki twins could have probably had some normal insight in to.

“Oh! We go to the academy too!...Sometimes…”

Her voice trailed off slightly as she realised that she didn’t go to the academy all that much but quickly sprung back into action. Sitting back to allow Akeno to remain in the conversation, she went into gossip mode, full schoolgirl. Her words getting quicker and more excitable as she reeled off questions about how Keiko was at the academy.

“Whats your favourite subject? Who’s your favourite sensei?
I know! I bet you like depression-sensei!”
