Mission Details

Because the two students opted to partake in a mission simply because they wanted to, the Kage of Akarigakure sent them a simple fetch and deliver quest for a shut-in. Of course, the Kage would simply tell this no-good, good-for-nothing, lazy-bum of a person to go get his stuff himself, but because he had two students so eager to do a mission and they would receive money from it in any case, he decided why the hell not.

A missive would be sent by mail the following morning after the request was made. In it was the mission details and the location of the meet up, the stall location, and the neet's house. Any obstacles in the way could be dealt with in any manner as long as the idol was delivered unharmed and in perfect condition.

Easy right? So what are you waiting for? Do it.

Sakura woke from her slumber to an opened missive placed down next to her bed, by the time she had rubbed the wearinness from her eyes, the family member who had delivered it was long gone. She was surprised that the kage had taken so little time to find a mission for the pair of them, for a moment she considered Akeno and had a pang of guilt for going on a mission alone with their new found friend, but she had been having her own special time away from her twin recently that Sakura hadn’t been told about.

‘Oh a mission already, nice.’

The voice rang quietly through her head and startled the young idol, she looked around the room frantically but realised that it was just a voice in her head. A familiar voice, the shadow man. She shook her head as if to shake it off her mind, literally. It must have been a hallucination, there was no way that her fictional imaginary foe could be talking to her in the waking world.

Silently she took the opened missive, frowning that the completely expected breach of privacy, knowing that she would be followed during this mission regardless of her will. Reading over every word multiple times, Sakura nodded to herself, thinking this was a reasonable mission to be sent on for a pair of students...even if they were more or less ready to graduate.

After getting ready for her first mission, she bounded out of the door with great energy, heading towards the location of where she would meet Keiko. Whether this was at the mission meetup point or not was yet to be decided.

It was a quiet day. A day of rest. A Saturday. After reading several books and learning the basic ninjutsu and even excelling at a few of them, today was the day where she could relax and concentrate on her hobbies. Hobbies like reading, learning new jutsu, and uhh... that's the exact same day as normal. Go figure.

Keiko Kaguya was out and about, doing small chores here and there around her house even if it was still extremely early in the morning. It was during the time when she was folding her laundry after washing it that a messenger came knocking. Curious, she received the letter that was for her and opened it. Reading about her new and up-and-coming mission, naturally, she got very excited at her very first mission for her village.

The details written within seems plain and straight to the point, but it came from the Kage's office itself! REEEEEEE~!!!

- -

After about two hours later, she headed out to the meet up location where she will meet her mission in crime partner: Sakura. The younger Dezaki was Keiko's personal favorite, only because she interacted with this twin more often compared to the other. Knowing that Sakura would be her partner, the Kaguya brought with her a gift for the idol; a personal creation of her's: konpeito. It was sweet, it was hard, and it was delicious. And it came in several flavors too. Keiko wrapped the gift in a small plastic pouch to be given once they met.

OOC: No need for NPCer post yet.

From down the street, Sakura noticed Keiko emerging and immediately began skipping with further excitement now that their mission was about to start. A huge smile beamed across her face as she waved towards her partner, counting her blessings that the twins had met the fine young girl and that she had been selected as her partner for her mission.

“COOKIE-CHAN!”

The idol had also bought her own gifts/nibbles for their venture through the city, a pouch full of chocolate chip cookies! In all honesty, there was no real resemblance being names between the cookies and Keiko, in fact, they were very dissimilar. Once she was within range of the girl, she would throw her slender body towards her in a glomping motion, with every intent to latch on to her friend.

After the friendliness had finished, she would pull a cookie from her pouch and offer it up to Keiko.

“Cookie?
Ready to rock this NEETs world?”

The radiance coming from this human was very blinding, to say the least. As she waved and skipped and torpedo'd her way into Keiko, the Kaguya couldn't help but feel a bit of the same emotions that Sakura was feeling.

She accepted the cookie without hesitation, munching into its chocolatey goodness. Without pause, she scarfed it all down and reached into her own bag and pulled out Sakura's gift. The star-shaped balls of candy could be portrayed as something similar to the Dezaki: a star, sweet, delicious, and dazzling~

Well maybe not delicious, Keiko has yet to taste Sakura, nor did she have any inclination on doing so. Offering it to her partner-in-crime, a smile was plastered on the girl's face while giving it to her.

"Heck yeah~! He's gonna be soo bedazzled by meeting a real life idol that he'll probably faint. Or maybe he's only into 2D..."

Now that the two students have met up, the mission was a go.

Objectives:

Pick up the Package
Deliver the Package
Watch NEET blow up

On the paper they received in the morning, the location of the shopping district and the stall itself were written clearly by a skilled cartographer. It was due west near the edge of Akarigakure's village. Between their current position and the shopping district were several buildings, a river running perpendicular to them, and several more buildings. Farmland dotted the south side of the village, and one could probably see several livestock roaming around in large pens.

Akarigakure is a pretty large village and would probably take the two about ten minutes to travel there.

As Keiko devoured her treat, Sakura couldn’t help but hold her hands together and sway from side to side with excitement, and happiness at how much joy she had bought to her white haired beauty of a friend. In return, she took one of the girl’s sweets and placed it gently on her tongue, slowly savouring the taste.

“MMmmmMmmM. This tastes amazing!
We should share this with Akeno!”

She took another, and another, of the hard konpeito and took to sucking them vigorously. They were truly truly delicious and she was enjoying every moment of them as they softened in her mouth. For a moment she was so content with showing her gratitude in ‘mmm’s that she forgot to reply to Keiko.

“Well, 3D girls are lame. According to some I suppose.”

Grabbing Keiko by the hand, Sakura would gently tug her friend in the direction they needed to go, towards the shopping district. Even though it was supposed to be an easy fetch quest, she would take it easy, taking a slow stroll through the village in order to keep stamina. As they walked for those 10-ish minutes, the idol would stare off into the distance, taking in the sights and sounds of the village as life passed through.

“So what are we going to buy on our girls shopping trip?”

Being pulled off into mission mode was a bit underwhelming. Should they be having this much fun on their very first mission? But how couldn't they be anything but? Sakura is an adorable ray of sunshine that brings smiles to literally everyone!

Seeing the sights of Akarigakure, Keiko wondered just how much of the village she had left unexplored. She hasn't even been to the shopping district before even if she lived here her entire life. What mysteries and wonders awaits her?

When asked the question about what they should do for their 'shopping trip', Keiko pondered on the reply of 'mission first, fun later' but decided against it. Why couldn't they do both at the same time? It wasn't like this mission was too terribly important. They were still headed to the shopping district. They could kill two birds with one stone and do both at the same time, why not?

"I don't get to wear much colorful clothing. We should totally go get some! I've seen what you wore! You need to help me with it! Teehee~

Maybe some food too, oh! And gifts, we can't forget to buy gifts. And like maybe some little ninja stuff while we're at it! No harm in being fashionable while kicking ass! Hahaha~"

While the gossip girls were doing their thing, their NPCer began thinking of what to type next. Ahh, yes. Right.

Sooner or later, the two students would reach the shopping district. The first thing they would notice is the brilliant display of several different colors and the hubbub of people walking past each other trying to get what they want. Each building had several advertisements that wanted people to buy a certain article of clothing or to buy a never before seen remedy that cures all mumps and bumps.

Some of the buildings were actual arcades that featured several ninja games like 'Shinobi Bout' and this platform game called 'Mark of the Ninja'. Some retro-looking consoles were also on display like 'Akari' and its revolutionary games like 'Pong' and 'Asteroid'.

Near the northern side of the shopping district was where individual sellers put up their stalls to sell their own goods. Some of these came from Yamagakure and Kawagakure, or so the rumors were. Of course, all this information was probably not on the little slip of paper that was given to the two mission takers.

The only information given to them about the seller who had the idol was that he would be in this northern side, his general appearance, and the usual stuff he sold. The two would have to go find him themselves.

(If you didn’t see discord, I’m losing internet at home for a while whilst my new landlord sorts it out. I’ll be trying to post at work on weekdays, but it's going to slow down. Sorry!)

“Oh yes, we will definitely find something to wow your fans!”

At the thought of clothing, Sakura instinctively perked up and bounced slightly, bringing her sapphire orbs to rest on her friend, scanning her up and down as she assessed her “figure”. She couldn’t help but tease Keiko about her ‘fans’, it was almost embarrassing how many looks she got from the boys as they passed through the village.

Once they reached the market, Sakura raised her hood and cast her features into shade. She didn’t speak of the matter but it was clear that she was trying to avoid drawing as much attention to herself in the middle of the crowds as possible. The idol moved through the crowds with speed and grace, guiding her friend through the maze of people as if she were used to this. Every so often she would point out a colourful dress to her friend as she tried to figure out Keiko’s tastes for fashion.
Colours, Cut, Accessories, Practicality. It was all important. She needed to learn everything about her friend before they could commit.

“Ugh, the 2D girls in those games aren’t even pretty.”

As they passed the arcade machines, the little idol rolled her eyes and quickly bought her attention back to Keiko, hurrying the pair up slightly in pace as they moved towards the north side. She looked down at the mission that they had been given, only now stopping to access the complete nature of the situation, and it was quickly apparent from her facial expression that she was annoyed. Her brows wrinkled with frustration as she continued to look down at the letter, shaking her head vigorously as she tried to comprehend what the had been assigned too.

“We didn’t even get a name!
How does this buyer expect us to have us find a mystery man?”

"My fans? Hahaha... I don't have any..."

Keiko covered her body with her hands as Sakura eyed her like a piece of raw meat. She didn't really notice that much about other people's gazes when she had a goal in mind. Even if she was taking classes and stuff, she always spent her days either in the library or at the training grounds to practice her techniques.

But of course, someone who is under the eye of scrutiny would understand the feeling of being watched. Keiko just didn't really experience it firsthand yet. As they reached the marketplace, Sakura lifted the hood to cover her face, a movement the Kaguya girl only finally realized the meaning behind it for. Every once in a while while the silver-haired youth was being guided through the villagers, her partner in crime would stop at a stall and point out a dress for the girl.

Keiko shrugged and felt like it wouldn't really suit her tastes, but what did she know? She only wore a few select clothing every single day. It would be good to just forget about her appearances for a short moment and let her be dressed up like a barbie doll.

"Some of them are.. like uhh... the Kagamine twins (lol)"

When they finally reached the marketplace, Keiko looked at her paper with her free hand. All they had to go on was the merchant's general appearance and the goods that he or she sold, which was idols, (go figure). She looked back up and into the crowd. Any one of these people could be the person they were looking for.

"They are somewhere inside here.. We'll find them eventually, right?"

Not long after the two students entered the marketplace, a booming voice resonated throughout the stalls and people that were in the area.

"Come one, come all and see the latest in idol history! Have you been looking for something that'll wow your friends? How about a cute little ornament that can spruce up any table? Or perhaps you would like to have one of these little bad girls because you already know about them? You've come to the right place my friends! Here I am, selling never before seen idols from Akarigakure!!"

His voice was loud and was clearly a level or two higher than his other competitors near him. Around the guy were several figurines of several sizes and a variety of colors each with a different pose to the one next to it. Some of the figurines that were grouped together seemed to be in the same team while others were of a completely different type. Sakura and Keiko would almost immediately spot the holy grail of figurines that were set on a dais for all to see. This was the never before seen idols from Akarigakure that this merchant was trying to sell.

Two almost identical miniature figurines of the most recent idols of Akarigakure were proudly shown for all to see. This was first seen at their very first live with their very first performance outfits and was now seen again here on these two almost life-like figurines. Sakura and Akeno. The two Dezaki twins of Akarigakure.

The appearance written on the paper they were given and the portly man that was shown in front of the two mission takers were almost identical.

“Oh, you certainly have fans.”

Sakura giggled as her friend tried to cover herself up away from her inspection. It was adorable that she had never noticed the boys looking at her at school, especially when she was doing all her acrobatic and athletic skills.

“Who are the Kagamine twins?
Nevermind, after we finish this mission, we will find you a dress you like.”

She tilted her head in curiosity at the mention of another pair of twins that Keiko knew of, who were apparently just as fashionable as the Dezaki twins. A little sigh breezed out of her lips as Keiko shrugged off every suggestion that she pointed out to her and after a while, she decided that it would be better to follow Keiko’s philosophy. The mission would come first.

“Well we have no choice but to find them!
Even if it means asking every single vendor.”

No sooner had she finished that sentence with conviction, the pair heard a booming voice coming from nearby. For a moment, she grimaced at the loudmouth trying to upstage all the others but upon the mention of idols, her gaze immediately darted over to the portly man. The grimace quickly turned back into the dazzling smile that the twins were known for, for this man's appearance matched the description they were looking for. With eagerness, she pointed in the direction of their mission.

“Or...we could get lucky!”

Holding out her hand for Keiko to take once again, the young girl slipped through the crowds so that she could inspect the collection of idols for herself. These figurines weren’t really her thing and she deliberately avoided the figures of the Dezaki twins, she didn’t want to have to judge craftsmen for their ability to capture their likeness. Trying not to draw attention to herself, she would cast her eyes over the collections and then nudge Keiko with her elbow to get her to start talking to the vendor.

"That would be nice Sakura-chan, thank you."

The voice! It was a loud voice that overpowered everyone else in the marketplace. When he said the word 'idol', Keiko looked up and peered over the crowd to see who exactly said it. Over there! Taking hold of Sakura's outstretched hand, they both headed towards the vendor with the appearance that matched the paper and listened to the rest of his speech. Laid out in front of him were several little dolls that seemed like it would match a home-grown anime lover like their NEET person.

Keiko giggled instantly when she saw what the main attraction was. She didn't however bring any attention to the person standing behind her as that would probably give more trouble than it was really worth. A small nudge pushed her forwards and the Kaguya girl nodded.

"Hi mister! We're here to pick up an order for a.. Mr. Neeta? Two figurines of the ones sitting right there. I believe he already purchased it from you?"

Everything was in the small little piece of paper that Keiko held and the girl showed the small receipt for the proof of purchase, complete with the Neet's seal. She looked up at the portly man eagerly for one of their objectives to be completed.

"Ahh yes! I remember this fellow. Immediately bought the pair as soon as I made it and announced it to the world. This Neeta fellow is quite dedicated to my work, you see?"

The vendor rummaged through his crate behind his desk and pulled out the Dezaki twins. They were carefully wrapped with linen and paper and placed inside a small cutesy box that had Akeno's face on one side and Sakura's on the other. He offered it to Keiko when he finished securing the package.

"This was pretty expensive so you better get it to Mr. Neeta in perfect condition, you hear? He's a valued customer of mine and I want this package delivered safely!
Now run off! Unless you yourself want to purchase some figurines of mine? I'll give you a special discount. How about the young girl behind you, she looks quite shy. Maybe she's interested in it as well?"

Mr. Portly would try to glance around Keiko's shoulder to get a better look at the hooded figure known as Sakura and try to initiate a conversation with the true idol. If word gets out that Sakura was here in this marketplace, the whole of Akarigakure would get all mad and crazy and try to trample the two mission takers with their love and devotion.

When Keiko took the hint, Sakura took a small breath of relief and felt some of the tension in her shoulders fall away. As the vendor dug through his merchandise in the corner of her vision, she noticed familiar faces on the box she was going to deliver. Under the shade of her hood looking away from the vendor, she smiled and bought her hands into her baggy sleeves, quickly flitting through seals and transforming her face into one of her other cousins through the use of Henge.

Luckily she had taken the opportunity to transform before the vendor had the opportunity to start paying attention to her proper. At the mention of her hovering, she swiveled her body to face the vendor and stepped up confidently next to Keiko, raising her head so that the vendor could see her newly transformed face. Her voice would not come out as cheery or full of energy as she used for her normal everyday performance, instead she’d adopted a more serious, deep female voice to try and mask any signs of her real existence.

“Oh...no thank you.
Mr Neeta certainly has good taste, their concert was ah-maz-ing.
But figurines aren’t my thing.”

Looking back down at the acquired idol box, Sakura pointed away, her hand close to her chest, from the vendor so that they could get away from the crowds and continue with the second half of the mission. She had already decided that Keiko would be the optimal one of the pair to carry the box as she had shown great resilience and reflex in her fight against Ninigi, if anything was going to happen, Keiko would be able to defend the merchandise.

“Come along Keiko, Mr. Neeta is waiting for this.
Don’t worry sir, the Dezaki twins will arrive in perfect condition. I’m sure he’ll be pleased with the delivery girls too.”

With the box acquired, she would no longer reach out for Keiko (since she would require a hand to defend herself) and would slowly lead the pair back through the marketplace in the direction of their employers abode. Sakura was keeping everything in her environment under watch, looking for anything that seemed out of place or for anything that could be a sign of danger. The mission came first for the pair right now.

With Sakura behind her suddenly talking in a voice unlike her own, Keiko glanced back with a straight face and noticed the difference in appearance. The girl turned her head back around to face the shopkeep and bowed, parting ways with the pleasantly plump person before following in Sakura's steps. The package was carried with her left arm that sort of acted like a cage to keep it from moving out as well as a wall to keep anything from going in.

As they headed in a new direction towards Mr. Neeta's residence, a thought popped into Keiko's mind that only manifested itself after Sakura mentioned the client being pleased with the delivery girls.

"Hey Sakura," she said when the Kaguya was sure that no one was within earshot, "I was thinking about what you said earlier and like.."

Keiko pulled Sakura to a stop and whispered into her ear about her transforming into Akeno when they reached Mr. Neeta's place. It would be one thing to finally get the idols' idols after it finally came out, it would be another thing entirely to be receiving the idols' idols from the idols themselves, right? The silver-haired girl put her free hand in front of her mouth and giggled.

Not much trouble would befall the two students as the main problem cleverly disguised herself with a simple jutsu. They would exit the marketplace with relative ease and were headed in the direction of the NEET's house, which was in the northern side of Akarigakure. While the south side had the farmland and agriculture previously mentioned in post six, the northern side held most of the updated houses and buildings, courtesy of the recent technology boom that graced Akarigakure. It was still not as high-tech as one would initially presume, but it was most definitely a place with electricity and internet.

It would take another ten minutes to traverse the lands that went towards the more industrial district where Mr. Neeta lived. This particular shut-in lived in the third floor of an apartment complex that was situated on the side of a hill. The road that led up was slightly cobbled and buildings lined each side of the street. It wouldn't take too long for the two to figure out where exactly the person lived; they had instructions on the map after all.

As Keiko whispered her suggestion, Sakura came to a stop and turned her eyes up to the sky, deep in thought about what had been presented to her. The giggling from the silver haired girl snapped her back to reality but she still couldn’t decide if that would be appropriate, he knew that he had hired ninja after all.

“I’m not sure that you should be masquerading as my twin.
Maybe having a real and a fake would sour the whole Dezaki experience, you know?
How likely is it that a pair of idols just happened to deliver his gift?”

She sighed as she considered all the possible outcomes and soon gave a shrugging motion, this kind of decision was well beyond her pay grade. It’s not like she could stop Keiko from transforming into her sister, or her, and she couldn’t stop any other ninja doing it either. Was this mission really worth all that thought process?

Once they had cleared the marketplace and the majority of crowds, Sakura let her henge drop and poofed back into her existence as an idol. Feeling the gentle breeze ruffled through her short hair, she stared out across the agriculture and beamed. Nature was so beautiful, she almost wished that she didn’t have to perform in crowded villages.

Unfortunately it soon faded away into industrialised districts, a far cry from the nature that she loved so much. Her smile did not slip from her face although it did dampen slightly, yet this was her first mission and also a visit to her fan, she would be putting her best foot forward.

“That's the place.
I’ll go up and knock on the door and dazzle him with my youthful charm.
You can back me up, in whatever form you desire. Sound good?”

Hmm. Would it really be that bad though? It wasn't impossible for both of the twins to be doing a mission together. One would normally think that they would stick together at all times, and since both of them were students at the Ninja Academy, they could have both taken the same 'mission' together.

Respecting Sakura's wishes and putting the minor issue aside, Keiko followed the one true idol out of the marketplace and into the peaceful and serene lands. Every once in a while, the Kaguya would stop at a flower patch and admire the smol things before quickly catching up to her partner.

Soon enough, they reached the location of Mr. Neeta the NEET's house and they both stopped.

"No problemo~! You got it, boss!"

Keiko would swiftly check her current appearance before taking her position right behind Sakura, her body just a bit towards the right. That's right, you go sell yourself, not as a Dezaki, but as a Kaguya! You rock! Her face would flush a bit red just after the door opened and Keiko quickly looked down in embarrassment.
