[B-Ranked Mission]

[Starts inside Akarigakure]

The team has finally gathered back together again. After several months apart, Jashinru, Vivian, and Zau were finally able to get back together again. The Kage of Akarigakure, Akimichi Chouten, requested Team Kazue be put back into commission. Each chuunin was sent a small missive for them to gather in front of the main gate at 07:00 the next morning.

Once there, they would converse for a few minutes before getting into the meat and grit. The Asakage would explain the mission details, saying that one of their trade routes have been besieged by a well-organized group of bandits. Once all questions have been answered, he would send them off to their destination at Hizou fort to the north.

Zau nodded through Chiten's explanation, not saying anything until he was gone. Once he had left, however, it was time to get to work. Zau raised his hand to his mouth and reopened a cut on his thumb with his teeth-a practice he was sure Vivian, at least, would recognize. He performed a few seals and knelt down, slamming his hand on the ground. Akago was summoned to Zau's location, along with a pair of his siblings whose names Zau didn't know. One was a shimmering, glossy black, and one was a deep, wine-colored red.

Zau reached up and pet Akago's cheek, to which the massive fowl responded warmly with a series of chirps. He walked over to the others he summoned, and after giving them each a pet as well, reached for a slender metal strip dangling from the front of their saddles, reading their names off of each in turn.

"Kuroban", he said as he led the black Niwatoridai to Jash. Kuroban was shorter than Akago, but more solidly built. As Zau took his reins in hand, he noticed a slight resistance-Kuroban, it seemed, had a bit of a fiery streak in him. He would lead the other bird to Vivian-"Sakurazume", he in turn said to Viv as he handed the reins of the wine-hued bird to her. Sakurazume was much more pliant than Kuroban, and even lowered her head down to Zau in order to get another cheek rub.

"These are Niwatoridai. They're a little smarter than horses, not as smart as most summonings though. Mine is named Akago. We've got a ways to go, so I figured we could move in style. They can also run faster and further than we can. They can't fly, but they can glide, so if we come to any cliffs, just feel free to direct them right over the edge.

They're excellent steeds, but they aren't trained to fight, so if we get into any trouble, send them running please. I don't want to have to explain a few dead Niwatoridai.
"

With that, Zau returned to Akago, placed one foot in the stirrup hanging from Akago's saddle, and swung the other leg over. Once his teammates were in position, Zau would tap Akago's flank with his heel, and his steed would be off, the pair heading North. Akago was faster than most of his siblings, so Zau wouldn't have him go full speed-but even his slower siblings were still blazingly fast-there was a reason Zau liked riding these things, after all.

Vivian handed the Kage's aides a piece of paper she had prepared ahead of time as he left, or the Kage himself if none were present. On one side was her personal seal for Hiraishin. On the other were the words 'MUSASHI'S PLAYPEN' in big red letters. She would hopefully not need to go into depth about where that needed to go but if it seemed like there was confusion she would explain that it was ideally to be placed wherever they would like the mark to end up once they had acquired him.

Other than that... there wasn't much for her to do. Oh wait there actually was. Reaching out to her teammates she tapped them both on the shoulder and marked them with her seal. With a cheeky grin she pulled back and twirled around to face the exit as she called out over her shoulder.

"So I can find you when you inevitably get in over your heads."

Being honest with herself if anyone was likely to get in over their head it was her. That wouldn't stop her from worrying about the others. Zau she hadn't seen for month so there wasn't exactly a chance to do this beforehand, and Jash was always busy with his training when she was free. Much like she was busy with hers when he was free. Honestly it was a wonder they all managed to be free and meet up when they had the other day at the village entrance.

As Zau introduced her Niwatoridai Vivian reached up and softly ran her hand alongside its beak as she gave it a smile.

"Sakurazume... Nice to meet you."

Vivian had never ridden, well, anything in her life. Being in the back of a wagon really didn't count here. Hers was a life immersed in complex sealing formulae and advanced chakra theories. Not to mention that all of that was for the sake of attaining what most would consider an impossible goal. Yet for all her knowledge and ability it was getting on the !Chocobo that daunted her. With more than a little hesitation she slowly hoisted herself onto its back and settled into the saddle. Once up there Vivian would follow Zau's example and give a tentative tap with her heel.

To say that she was taken by surprise at the sudden burst of speed was an understatement. Letting loose a string of curses that would make a sailor blush she held onto Sakurazume for dear life as they rocketed across the ground. It wasn't even the speed itself, she herself could attain speeds almost matching the bird. The rush of the ground coupled with the fact that she felt completely out of control left the chuunin missing the feeling of good solid earth beneath her feet.

Yet after a few minutes of unsteady wobbling in her saddle she found that the mount was quite receptive to her plight. If she seemed like she was going to topple off it would adjust itself beneath her to settle her in. No longer worried she'd end up getting thrown off at least, Vivian offered her teammates a shaky smile. The sooner they got to their destination the better.

Jash appeared late as usual, what was the scheduled time, 7:00? He was there at 7:20. Not a breath out of place he held his hand up and lazily placed them back in his pockets. say no more, i know i know. he would say to Zau and Vivian and turning in surprise to see Lord Third. Uh-oh. my bad Grandpa Third... he would say bowing his head. Lady Kazue would kill him if he forgot the manners she spent months engraving into his body. He most likely missed Lord Choutens explanation, but knew the details thanks to thier dossier.

Once Zau summoned what looked like an ostritch he led the reluctant black one to Jash...Wha...kuroban? Is this a joke? he would say tugging at the reign of the flightless bird. This thing had an attitude problem. He listened through Zaus explanation of the bird trying to get his to cooperate before it finally turned its head away accepting its job.

Jash hopped on its back, unsure of how to actually ride it, and Kuro seeing this gave a devious smile. This was goong to be an interesting ride. They waited for the word before moving out. Once they did Kuro took off bucking Jash around like a wet noodle making the ride very unpleasant for a first timer.

The Akimichi Asakage would play no part in the current mission, being completely ignored as he handed out the mission details. At least Jash said something to him.. There weren't even any questions, nor did he have the chance to ask how each and every one of them were. The nerve of these young brats.

Regardless, they all set off without soo much as a wave to their supreme leader. Much of Akarigakure's surroundings was desert and wasteland, the only parts of it not being so was next to the river. Several building-sized entities were scattered throughout the deserts of the previous Sun Country, some of them doing nothing in particular while others were hulking around, trying to find something to kill.

These beings, known as Akuma, came from another world to do whatever it takes to kill any and all humans. Why did they have such resentment towards us? Who knows? They do. As Team Kazue passed the river on their way towards Hizou fort, they would see three figures rumbling around in the distance. They were all several hundred meters away from each other, but because of their size, it looked like they were closer to one another than they would think. What will the trio of chuunin do? At the moment all three were not looking in the direction of the Akarigakure ninja and were mulling about at the ground.

As Zau led the charge-predictably, with Vivian quickly adjusting to the experience of riding the fowl and Jash...not doing so, he would of course notice the Akuma. While the monks were generally pretty insistent on their "no kills" rule, they held no illusions about the nature of Akuma-these were some of the few beings to not apply to the rule. In fact, it was quite the opposite-those powerful enough to do so were encouraged to slay these beasts whenever and wherever they were encountered.

Zau pulled back slightly on Akago's reins, slowing his steed down to a walk, and signaled for his companions to do the same.

"I know our mission should take precedence...but how would you guys feel about some demon slaying? Judging by their size, I'd say, probably A-rank...we could probably handle them one at a time. Thoughts?

Zau's last encounter with an Akuma was a shared experience with Jash and Serenity; that creature had only been C-rank, and it gave them significant trouble-but that was years ago. Zau and his friends were quite a bit stronger these days. Zau was confident that they could handle it.

The trip started out peacefully enough, but that was only to be expected. Right around the village would be where their security would be tightest and any stray malcontents stupid enough to venture this way would be picked up by Akarigakure shinobi well before they could bother the trio. It wasn't long after they had gone past the safety net that the real fun began with not one but three Akuma of at the very least B rank nature, or A rank if Zau's observations were correct. B rank was mostly her just being optimistic because with her luck they were actually Z rank and everything ended here and now.

What with them being right in their path it posed a slight dilemma, one that most sane people would conclude ended with them taking the long route. Not Zau apparently.

"Jeez... If we stop to take care of every Akuma between here and our target we might never get there. Plus they'll just come back down the road."

Her words might have carried more weight were it not for the excitement apparent on her face. The token resistance she offered to Zau's plan was just that. There were two types of opponents that Vivian would never willingly back down from, and one of them happened to be akuma or anything that happened to remind her of them.

"It's too bad they're right in our way. I don't feel like going around, it'd take too long. Guess we have no choice."

She had no idea how Jash was going to react to the plan to take those things on so she could only wait and see, but if they were going Akuma hunting she knew one thing for certain. This would be the perfect time to test a few jutsu out and maybe see how well Atla fit in with the rest of the team.

Eventually the bucking stopped, as the summon got a devious smile of gratification from the chuunins suffering. Once the ride settled, Jash finally got a chance to enjoy being on the back of another creature through his stroll in the desert. As usual it was quiet, sand flowing through the air lightly, the crunchy sound on the ground as the creatures got them where they needed to be.

However, there was always a pit stop. In the distance, collosal sized creatures were in the distance, and someone was blood thirsty. Zau then suggested that the group take a detour and do some hunting. A smile crept upon Jashs face, before Vivian responded. Jash had already slapped the reigns on his mount lightly kicking at its sides with his heels.

Holding tightly with one hand he grabbed his double spear with the other and charged into battle with the closest beasty he could get to. Bringing the spear to his hand holding the reign with his other hand, he made two hand seals, activating Chidori through his spear making chidori blade activate. Once he got close enough he Leaped off its back and onto the Akuma spinning his Spear and aiming to stab said akuma.

His Sharingan too had been activated.

The three were off on their merry way towards Hizou Fort when in the far distance, several titan-class Akuma were spotted. Zau, Vivian, and Jash slowed to a crawl and discussed amongst themselves how to deal with the looming threat. While Vivian was initially cautious but agreed with Zau, Jash had already decided to attack the closest titan which happened to be to the right of the trio in the far distance. Poor Kuroban realized what was going to happen sooner or later, but continued running towards the titanic Akuma in the distance.

- - -

It would take him about a full minute and some thirty seconds for Jash and Kuroban to get close to the demon. During that period of time, all three Akuma would turn around slowly as if they noticed the presence of the oncoming opponents. Just after jumping off of the Niwatoridai, the demon Jash targeted would almost immediately shoot out several dozens of tentacles from its body and fly towards Kuroban. The bird would freak out and turn around and run away as fast as it could but would get pierced by the chakra tendrils in a couple of seconds. These tentacles' tips were extremely hard and durable, capable of piercing through metal with ease. What more a fleshy feathered bird?

Another set of tentacles would shoot out of its body from multiple points of its body when Jash was within five meters of the Akuma. Although they all protruded from several parts from the body, they shot out first before converging onto the Uchiha. How would the Sharingan user proceed with this oncoming threat?

- - -

The left most Akuma was the second closest according to the team's former position. It looked like a gigantic porcupine.

The middle most Akuma was the farthest. It was also a lot smaller in size compared to the other two demons. It looked like a deformed shape of a human and a dog mixed together. Could it be that it took its appearance from a werewolf in the past?

The right most Akuma was currently being fought by Jash of the Uchiha. This was the largest of the three demons, almost the size of a two story building with several rooms inside. Its appearance was that of a mammoth with several bumpy protrusions emanating from its body. It had a pair of blackish tusks, was very hairy, and had several small eyes all over its body. The tentacles that come from its body are a foot in diameter and can extend several times its size out of its body. They were also extremely fast and agile. This Akuma has killed several ninja in the past because they thought it was a hulking slow beast.

"What. An. Idiot."

Zau would have Kuroban disperse long before Jash ever made it all the way-in fact, pretty much as soon as Jash made it clear he intended to charge headlong towards a demon, Jash would find his steed vanishing from beneath his ass.

Since Zau had dispersed the steed so quickly, it was unlikely that Jash would be attracting the tentacles of the beasty-at least, not right now.

"Jash, when I say 'Let's go fight some Akuma', I don't mean 'Let's charge at one with what is literally the loudest, most obvious jutsu any of us can use.' Kazue taught you more tricks with Chidori, but she clearly forgot to teach you to use your head. We can't just charge in like maniacs."

With one disaster somewhat averted...hopefully-Zau would now have time to think. If they were going to fight these Akuma, it needed to be one at a time, and it needed to be quick and efficient. Vivian's teleportation was certainly useful, but he wasn't sure if she had the stopping power needed to handle something that large.

"Viv, what are the odds you could get one of your marks on their necks? If we can get the marks there, you can warp Jash and I around and we can smash through them pretty quick with Chidori and Rasengan."

Vivian crossed her arms and nodded sternly in agreement with Zau. The least they could do was come up with some sort of plan before getting into the thick of it. Speaking of which... it wouldn't do to lay out the plan without everyone involved being present. Drawing a kunai she reopened a cut on her hand performed a summoning of her own. From out of the smoke strode a pale woman wearing a mask in traditional clothing, a sword at her side. Adding to her somewhat strange appearance were the wings the grew straight from her back marking her as something more than human. Once the smoke had cleared she made the introductions.

"This is Atla. Atla, meet Zau and Jash. She doesn't speak much so don't be offended if she doesn't answer you. I probably can't do enough direct damage to one of those things to be of much use outside of utility, so she's going to be filling in that gap in our offensive power with her blade. Atla we're going Akuma hunting. Isn't that exciting?"

The tengu bowed her head with a smile clearly visible although the rest of her face was obscured by her mask. As Vivian had said she was completely silent and offered no other input beyond that reaction.

"Now... Plan time. Everyone here is marked, so it makes the most sense for me to take on a support role. I can be at any front providing back-up instantly. It looks like they've noticed us so I doubt we'll have time to gang up on them on one at a time, but still they're not exactly grouped. We can keep them that way.

I can go with Jash to the first one and try to teleport him to the top where he can deal the most damage. Or he can get himself there and I provide cover fire, whichever. Atla can take Zau and fly him to the second one, or onto the second one, and if he looks like he needs help I can switch over there. Then Atla can hold off the third until we're ready to switch over. When Jash is done with his he switches to Zau's. Same goes for when Zau's falls, we move on to Atla's. Thoughts?"

The impatient one suddenly without a realization that his black Kuroban had disappeared beneath him fell to the sands below. His derrière would feel the impact and would momentarily be stunned at the thought, his mind solely focused on attacking the Akuma in the distance. Because of this, he would 'rest' on the sand for an extended amount of time near his teammates.

The summoning of Atla would attract the attention of one of the Akuma in the distance, more specifically, the demented porcupine. It would begin to lumber towards the six beings in the team's direction, its nose sniffing at the chakra that it sensed being used because of Atla. Its eyes weren't as strong as an Akuma should have, but it made up for that with its superior chakra sense. It proved this because of the distance the demon was compared to Team Kazue and how it still noticed the scent of chakra.

Jash had yet to respond to anything that had occurred. Zau sighed, realizing that Jash apparently just froze.

"Well, since Jash doesn't seem to want to contribute...maybe we just swarm them all, one at a time? Your plan still works, Atla can fly us around and you can teleport me to the best spot, but...with him not really in commission, we should probably plan around him. Can you...take him home, by the way?"

Zau would also take this time to reopen the cut on his thumb, summoning his own personal companion, Sasaki.

"Or, you and I can go after one and these two can handle the next in line."

Sasaki paused, looked around, and took stock of the situation. "Demons? Really? I was napping...and you must be Vivian...and he must be Jash. I've heard a lot about the two of you. My name is Sasaki."

With Jash looking like he was frozen Vivian worried he might have been injured by his fall. Crouching over by his side it didn't look like he was injured, but it was probably better to be safe than sorry. Pulling his arm around her shoulder she stood up half-carrying him with her.

"Yeah that's us Sasaki. Pleasure to meet you I'm sure, although the timing could be better. I'm bringing him back and getting him checked out by our medics. If they give him the clear after we take care of these demons then he can join us here again. Oh and uh... Sasaki, Atla. Atla, Sasaki."

Teleporting both of them to the hospital she pushed through the doors and moved as fast as she could to the front desk.

"Sorry, not much time to explain. Can you make sure he's ok? I'll be back in a bit."

Leaving him propped up against the desk she vanished back to the battlefield next to Zau. Her brow furrowed as she seemed to be thinking of the disadvantage they now found themselves in. Holding her open hand out she stared down at it for a few moments before clenching it tightly.

"That's one of our heavy hitters down. I have a new jutsu that I can try to use and fill in the gap, but something tells me it won't have the same kind of impact on uglies that big. Atla! New plan, we'll need you to go all out. See if you can take at least one of these bastards down. Sasaki... I don't know what you're capable of not having seen you fight. It's your call what to do. Back up Atla or come with us. A warning for both of you. Whatever you do, do NOT get hit by Atla's sword or jutsu. Keep a safe distance, even a small cut could be really bad. Let's go!"

Nodding once Atla unfurled her wings and flew off directly towards the porcupine demon at top speed, keeping low to the ground in her approach. All she needed to do was get in close for now. Vivian in the meantime created a trio of clones that would spread out and charge forwards towards the nearest akuma. She held out a hand to indicate to Zau that they were going to stay put for now. Once at least one of the clones got into position she could bring herself and Zau in instantly, but if there was going to be some sort of violent reaction from the akuma it would be best to see what it was capable of on a group of fakes than on themselves.

OOC: I'm hoping you all are keeping track of your chakra levels. There's been a few stuff being used already and just wanted to make sure where you all stand in the whole jazz.

The frozen Uchiha would be safely deposited at the hospital's front desk. Just after Vivian left to go back to the fray alongside Zau, the nurses who attended Jash quickly verified that he was physically alright, although his soul seemed to have left his body. He was in a shock-induced coma and they had no way of knowing when he would come to. It could be a single day, it could be an entire week, or it could even be an entire year. They simply had no clue. They brought the Uchiha to one of their hospital beds and laid him down to rest.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the flying tengu Atla would travel at a speed very similar to one of Zau's Niwatoridai's, and would reach Porcupine within a few minutes. Vivian's clones however, were a lot slower than either of the two summons and would take a great deal longer to reach the mammoth demon. Although the mammoth had made eye contact with the clones, it made no clear motive to confront them.

The werewolf-shaped Akuma that was almost human in size had spotted both the summons and clones coming in from the far distance but also didn't make any moves. It simply watched them while walking around keeping an eye on both parties.

OOC: It should be fine. We have a long trip ahead of us still, since you stopped us right after the river. By the time we get there, our chakra should be mostly back, assuming we don't stop every hour to fight something new.

IC: Sasaki flew off after Atla, chasing slightly behind her the whole way. About half the way through, he started climbing higher through the air rather than further. Once he climbed high enough, he went into a dive, picking up more speed than he could have achieved with pure forward momentum, in an effort to keep up and surpass Atla-Sasaki could hit a target hard, but it was somewhat indiscriminate.

"Atla, fall back!"

If she complied, Sasaki would soar past her, and once he was within range of the first demon in line, he would pull his wings up and back, coming to a near stop. He would then release a single wingbeat, with it, unleashing his most powerful technique - Daikamaitachi no Jutsu [Great Sickle Weasel Technique]. This technique was capable of leveling a forest, cutting clean through tree trunks to devastate everything in its path-the damage it could do to an Akuma was likely just as catastrophic.

~~~
Zau, for his part, waited patiently as Vivian indicated, though he started preparing his chakra for one of his newer techniques. He wasn't entirely sure about this jutsu's ability to bring down a whole Akuma...but it could at least cause some damage.
As Atla closed in on the akuma and prepared to make an attack run she heard Sasaki's voice warning her to fall back. Assuming that the other summon could see something that she could not the Tengu flared her wings and performed a loop to end up just behind Sasaki's position. As the decimation from the fuuton jutsu hit Atla waited patiently with her hand on her weapon, trying to ascertain if it would be enough.
As the Viv-clones made their way closer the main body also waited patiently. There wasn't much to be done in the meantime. They weren't in any immediate danger. They couldn't pose any immediate threat. So she waited.
"Keep your eyes on my clones, that's where we're going to end up. I can only take you as close as they can get, after that you're on your own for getting into position unless you need extraction."
Once the clones were in position and assuming they didn't look like they were going to be imminently smooshed she would activate Byakugan before reaching out to grab his hand, teleporting them both in and depositing Zau. From there she would charge right in with her clones with all of them attempting to get as in its face as possible. Literally, she wanted to hit its face. With the distinctive stance of the Hyuuga that had her own... unique flair... and a green trail of chakra coating her hands she would proceed to poke the thing in the eye or anywhere in the general face area if she could.
With Porcupine-san approaching the two summons at a rate one could describe as slow to an Akuma but pretty fast for a regular ninja, It had its eyes and nose on the flying things for quite a while now. It immediately sensed Atla when it was being 'summoned', and headed into their direction for a while now. With the oncoming attack soon approaching, Porcupine-san was hellbent on releasing its fury upon the two saps. When the two were close enough for Mr. Porcupine to launch an attack of his own, the Akuma began spinning around at a rapid pace, increasing in speed until a torrent of air would woosh around the demon in a tornado-like manner. This happened to coincide directly with the aerial attack Sasaki had launched. The Daikamaitachi attack would immediately cut several quills from the Porcupine's hair and partially cut into the rodent's body. Each quill was almost a half a foot thick and as dense as a palm tree. The rotational speed of the Akuma combined with the thickness of its quills was enough to severely lower the strength of the attack.
Porcupine-san would screech and release an attack of its own in a matter of seconds. It had finished spinning around at full speed and began shooting out its quills towards the two summons. These hardened hairs would be able to travel an extremely long distance that would almost reach the river had it been launched at a 45° trajectory. It launched its hairs from several places from around its body, a new hair growing in its place in a short moment. The area of effect its quills struck was forty meters wide and left very few openings to dodge them. Its relentless assault would continue for about ten seconds before the spinning began to slow and Porcupine-san stopped in its tracks.
Mammoth-san was huge. Two-stories tall huge. The several eyes that it had all over its body stared at everything it could see. Most of the ones facing the three clones were directed at them. However, it still did not do anything. For an Akuma, it seemed 'docile', but that was only because it was slow. In contrast, it had extremely thick skin and several eyes to see all over its body.
QUOTE
This was the largest of the three demons, almost the size of a two story building with several rooms inside. Its appearance was that of a mammoth with several bumpy protrusions emanating from its body. It had a pair of blackish tusks, was very hairy, and had several small eyes all over its body. The tentacles that come from its body are a foot in diameter and can extend several times its size out of its body. They were also extremely fast and agile. This Akuma has killed several ninja in the past because they thought it was a hulking slow beast.
When the two chuunin came in and the Viv + clones jumped up to strike the Mammoth-san's face, it retaliated with its tentacles shooting out and attempted to pierce them while they were in midair. It did not do anything to Zau as he remained still. (As far as the Mammoth knew.)
Mr. Werewolf began moving towards Mr. Mammoth to assist as it felt like the threat towards his gargantuan friend was more severe. It bounded towards its Akuma ally on all fours, closing the large distance between the two quickly. Although the size of the Werewolf Akuma was on the smaller side, its maximum height at around three meters, its quick speed and agility were frightening and brought to death several ninja in the past.
The mammoth thing was focused on Vivian and her clones; that worked out perfectly well for Zau. Zau activated his Sharingan and created a single Kage Bunshin. As Vivian had taken Zau along for the ride, he was right in front of the mammoth's face, and as the mammoth hadn't attacked him, he had a perfect opportunity for attack.
His clone thrust his palm towards Zau, unleashing a blast of Fuuton: Kazete, which served to launch Zau's body towards the mammoth's face. Immediately afterwards, that clone would disperse, returning all of Zau's chakra to him.
As Zau was launched, he manifested his newest jutsu in the palm of his hand. Initially, the technique looked like an ordinary Rasengan. The spherical ninjutsu quickly elongated, becoming something more reminiscent of a sword, held in the palm of Zau's hands, his fingers curling around the "handle" without touching the turbulent chakra. As it elongated, Zau infused the technique with the Fuuton element, increasing its cutting potential and making the blade take on a silver hue.
As he pressed the blade into the Mammoth's face, right between its eyes, Zau shouted his new technique's name- "Fuuton: Rasengatana!".
Zau's technique, with Fuuton infused into it, would resemble a single blade-but in reality, it functioned like thousands of rotating blades, compressed into a long, thin, blade shape. The cutting potential of the Fuuton version of this technique was incredible; Zau had yet to find a substance it couldn't cut.
If Zau's technique found it's mark, he would follow it up with a powerful pull to one side, ripping the blade through the beasts eye. The gyroscopic effect would twist Zau's body all the way around, bringing the blade through the behemoth's other eye as well. That was likely overkill though-the monster was only about 20 feet tall, after all. It's head couldn't be overly thick, and it would be likely that a direct hit would have pierced the thing's brain. Even if it didn't, however, the wounds caused by Rasengatana were notably difficult to heal from-rotating cuts, all the way through the body; the strange nature of the wounds resisted attempts to heal. It was Zau's most powerful technique.
After the slash, Zau would kick off of the mammoth's head, landing several feet away, his blade pulsing in his palm. With any luck, that had killed their largest target. Zau would feel much better about only dealing with 2 demons.
~~~

Sasaki hadn't expected the tornado defense, but the attack that followed was fairly obvious. Thankfully, Sasaki had an answer-he simply did the same thing as last time again. He launched Daikamaitachi no Jutsu a second time, relying on the force of the blast to repel the projectiles away from him-and perhaps this time, the porcupine would be disoriented from its own attack being thrown back and unable to mount an effective defense.

Having seen Sasaki's technique once before Atla knew now that when that birb flapped its wings shit was about to go down. More to the point it meant the Akuma was about to get a healthy serving of something to preoccupy itself with. Without wasting any time she flew recklessly past the fellow summon right in the wake of the fuuton jutsu, letting it clear a path through whatever obstacles the Akuma no doubt would place in its way and flying around those that it could not. Maybe the second time would be the charm so to speak. Perhaps this time the Akuma would fall, but Atla wasn't going to leave it to chance.

Hand on her blade it was as if time stood still for the Tengu, or rather it would be more accurate to say that's how it felt to her. The tension of that moment was exhausting yet exhilarating at the same time. Her goal was right in the thick of the fight. Indeed she wanted to be within touching distance of the beast. Perhaps it had more tricks up its sleeve, the mammoth demon seemed to sprout tentacles and use those to attack. Perhaps it could do the same. It mattered little to her as long as she could just get a little bit closer.

Should she manage to accomplish her goal then the Akuma's fate was effectively sealed. In one instant her hand would be on her blade at her side. Then her blade would be free and a high-pitched dissonance could be heard akin to metal being ground from the sheer speed at which it happened. Moreover a wave of chakra would come forth from that slash that would go forth 20 feet forward... possibly coming out the other side through the Akuma if it wasn't large enough. One proper blow was all she asked for or needed.

Vivian was meanwhile preoccupied with those aforementioned tentacles. She herself was not all that fast, certainly not for a chuunin. However her slippery nature would no doubt be made evident rather quickly within the first few seconds of dealing with the tentacles.

Her Byakugan would alert her of an incoming attack from any angle, and her ability to create clones meant she could find footing for herself even in midair. Any attempts at striking her would be met with a variation of "make clone(s), use clone(s) to move away" or in cases where that would be insufficient "teleport to clone that isn't in danger" or "teleport to Zau who isn't in any danger thus far". This would also apply to extracting Zau from imminent danger if it appeared he was about to be attacked and unable to respond.

Of course if she could use the clones to maneuver through the tentacles then her goal would be to land her twin strikes and get out. The Akuma wouldn't feel any pain or sense that it had taken damage from said blows, but the green light surrounding her hands would dissipate.

Atla combo
Speed of 180, slash cuts through 20 feet and is capable of cutting even indestructible material while also impeding any attempts at healing. Also Dainsleif helps in aiming the blow in cases of near misses or barely hitting, making the blow more substantial should the Akuma somehow be faster than all that.

Otoha (Sound Blade)
Description: A vertical Iadiou draw technique aimed at the target's defense even when there is attacking and defending at the same time. The technique combines 3-steps focusing on balance, speed and awareness. Once the practitioner is ready, he focuses all of his energy while maintaining his center of balance and delivers an attack at three times speed. A couple seconds after the slash there will be a audible creating a high-pitched dissonance, somewhat akin to the sound of metal being ground.

Plus

Issen [Flash]
Description: The user coats their sword with chakra and slashes at an opponent. The chakra leaves the blade as a crescent of chakra that cuts as effectively as the sword itself, and flies about 20 feet in the direction of the slash.

Plus

- The blade is supernaturally durable and sharp, able to cut through even materials deemed as "indestructible" and withstand all but the most devastating blows in return. Obviously the tougher the material the more effort and time it would take to cut it, but this is largely negligible until getting to that aforementioned indestructible stage. This is not a function of chakra but a passive function of the blade's design and the materials it is forged from. The scabbard is likewise resilient but obviously not very good at cutting things like the sword.
- Wounds inflicted by this weapon cannot heal naturally, even with any sort of increased passive regeneration. Traits or abilities that increase healing are likewise ineffective. Chakra based healing still functions but at a quarter efficacy (this may not be increased in any way, nor further decreased) and it is exceptionally painful to the recipient of the healing.
- Dáinsleif delights in causing harm, and will go to lengths to aid the wielder in doing so. In cases where the user is actively trying to harm a target the weapon will veer towards the target should the user miss. It will also seek to guide the users arm to strike at someone that has been established as a foe even if the user is not actively trying to hit them. This is only enough to turn near-hits into actual hits and will not auto-hit all the things until the end of time.
