Jutsu Type: Fuuinjutsu

Description: The Heaven Seal technique is applied via touch on a target and then via touch again on an item anywhere within the span of a day from initial contact. It works by sealing a portion of the targets soul within an object, usually but not necessarily a scroll. Until the soul is sealed within the object it resides within the user through Shinigami. It does not leave a seal that can be removed on the target, but rather on the object used. Functionally what this accomplishes is it seals away specific memories inside of it which are no longer available to the target. The memories form a gestalt personality that is based off the targets but formed only from what memories are available to it at the time. This means that the personality will act only on the basis of the knowledge within those sealed memories unless the user chooses to modify the personality. Generally speaking at least some modification is required for the consciousness to be cohesive.

This consciousness can interact with others that have the object to answer questions or show them the memories themselves. It can interact with anyone, even possessing the ability to reach out to those nearby and speak directly in their minds of its own accord unless it is locked away. However it may also choose not to depending on who it is dealing with and the personality available to it. In willing targets the user may implant fake memories only where the original memories were sealed, in unwilling targets they are left with gaping holes in their memory (regarding the original target). In regards to modifying the personality of the objects consciousness the user may choose to implant fake memories in the sealed object regardless of if the target was willing or not. Any number of fake memories may be added this way at any point to try and "persuade" the consciousness to divulge its secrets. The consciousness has a separate memory of its own to track events since its creation, but any instance of alteration to add or remove memories will erase the separate local memory and reset it to nothing.

Limitations:
- Used as a method to extract memories this jutsu can require quite a bit of detective work. The target will likely be unwilling to divulge its memory and unless the user knows exactly when the memory happened they are taking shots in the dark. Even then they must convince the consciousness through effective memory manipulation which could be an ordeal in and of itself. Cannot be removed.
- This jutsu is ill suited for direct combat as extracted memories take 10 minutes to leave the targets mind. Additionally the user cannot extract memories that have not been formed yet so attempting to use it proactively and seal the memory of the fight to come is impossible. Cannot be removed.
- Even if the memory of learning a jutsu is removed, the target may still use their technique. Cannot be removed.
- The user can only extract up to a cumulative amount of 1 weeks experiences per use, although multiple uses can be merged together and placed in the same object. This can be extended to 1 month per use, and then extended again to 1 year per use.

Drawbacks: As long as the consciousness has the memories the original does not, and this can be used as a tool to prevent others from acquiring specific knowledge. However it also prevents the target from using this knowledge meaning if the user targets themselves unless they are communicating with the object they themselves are at a disadvantage. This cannot be removed.

Description: This jutsu functions almost identically to Hakkeshou Kaiten and can be substituted for any prerequisites that require that jutsu. It provides the same omnidirectional defense through spinning and expelling chakra from the users Tenketsu. The main difference is that the form the chakra takes resembles that of a spinning turtle shell.

Weaknesses: This technique cannot be used if the user cannot begin a rotation. Additionally, it can be stopped by forcing the user to cease his rotation.

Description: After a series of handseals the user draws upon the souls sealed within themselves and converts them to raw chakra. Infusing themselves with this energy they spark a change in their body that is fueled by the potential energy of what will now never be. Where once that soul might have become a strong individual the user takes that strength. Where that soul might have been swift, or wise, the user takes those qualities and makes it their own for a time. That souls potential is stolen and put on display to burn brighter than it might have on its own, but only for a brief while. The user gains a boost of 10 to every attribute. This boost may be reallocated as the user sees fit, however they must leave at least a 1 point boost in every attribute.

Limitations: The user may only change their buff allocation once per post.

Description: Unlike most Tengu Alta is one of the few that chooses to forgo the traditional staff weaponry altogether. The sword at her waist indicates that she is still more than capable at taking care of herself should the situation arise. While she lacks the staff Alta does still have a mask much like many other of her brethren with hers being of a wolf design.

The Daitengu's eyes should one be lucky enough to catch a glimpse are amber and usually emotionless. As she rarely removes her mask that is not a fact that many would be privy to unless they decide they really need to stare. The pure white of her skin which matches that of her hair would indicate that she doesn't spend much time in the sun, which simply isn't true but regardless contrasts nicely with the jet black of her wings.

Personality: Alta is an exceedingly quiet individual, but not in the stealthy sense. She rarely if ever talks preferring to get her point across with actions and gestures wherever possible. Why this is no one can really say, and the Daitengu has managed just fine all these years working on these principles. In large part because of her quirk she may come off as distant to some, or perhaps enigmatic. In truth Atla is a very simple individual.

Simply put her philosophy is that to preserve the peace anything is permitted. It is not evil to take a life if doing so preserves the lives of others. To this end she has picked up the cursed sword Dáinsleif and put it to use against the enemies of the Tengu, something that has even her allies concerned. Her reclusive nature and world-view make her difficult to get to know at first, but by the same token her lack of close allies makes her value the few she has all the more.

Background Atla is a bit of an enigma even among the Tengu. Brought into the community by Sōjōbō as a young child she was adopted by a family of Daitengu at his behest, but the history of her origin was never explained. There are some who claim that she bears a striking resemblance to their leader, but most dismiss this as pure speculation. Whatever the case may be Alta somehow managed to always stand out ever from a young age, but not always in a good way.

Having her values challenged on more than one occasion by the elders of her community Atla finally decided a few decades ago to take up the sword Dáinsleif. With it came a seat on the inner council and responsibilities that other more respectable Tengu shied away from, but to Atla it was a means to an end. She would be the one to walk freely where others feared to tread and cut a path for their people to follow.

Description: Iaidou refers to a specific style of Kenjutsu concerned with the smooth, controlled movements of drawing the sword from its scabbard, striking the opponent, removing blood from the blade, and replacing the sword in the scabbard. The movements to this style are quick and precise, almost always slashes, and very controlled. An emphasis is to be placed on keeping ones composure when utilizing this style of combat.

Basics
Bunshin no Jutsu [Clone Technique]
Description: The user creates a clone of themselves. The clone looks just like the user in every way, to include current injuries and damage to clothing. The clone can be controlled mentally by the user as long as the user can see or otherwise detect what the clone is doing. Multiple clones can be made simultaneously, but each must be maintained separately as a distinct jutsu use.
Limitations:
- The clone is intangible, being made entirely of chakra. This limitation cannot be removed.
- It cannot harm anything, though it does not necessarily disperse as soon as contact is made. This limitation cannot be removed.
- This type of clone has no consciousness of its own and cannot make its own decisions.
- This clone has a range limit of 100 feet from the user. This limitation cannot be removed, but can be extended.

Henge no Jutsu [Transformation Technique]
Description: The user alters his or her appearance to look like something else. This transformation looks and feels real.
Limitations:
- The transformation cannot be unreasonably different in size to the user. They may, for instance, transform into a puppy or a large piece of furniture such as a bed-however, insects and objects much larger than a bed are not possible. This size limitation varies depending on the user's natural size. This limitation cannot be removed.
- Transforming is only skin deep-the transformation may feel real, but transforming into a metal object does not make you extra durable, nor does changing into a bird let you fly, etc. This limitation cannot be removed.
Weaknesses: Any physical damage done to the user immediately dispels the illusion, as well as any reasonably distracting event. This weakness can only be removed by obtaining the Trait that allows for it.

Kawarimi no Jutsu [Body Replacement Technique]
Requirements: Nearby debris roughly the size of the user
Description: With this technique, a user replaces their body with an inanimate object the moment an attack lands. This is done to evade an attack at the last second, making the opponent think the attack landed when in fact, it did not.
Limitations:
- This technique has a range limit of 25 feet. This limitation cannot be removed, only expanded.
- The object the user replaced themselves with must be of approximate size to the user. This limitation cannot be removed.
- This technique must be prepared a full post before it is used, and if no occasion comes about to use the technique, the chakra and handseals are wasted.

Nawanuke no Jutsu [Rope Escape Technique]
Description: This technique allows one to escape from ropes and wires tied to prevent their escape. This is done by using chakra to physically loosen or to sever the ropes. This technique does not require handseals.
Limitations: This technique does not work on heavy restraints or those made of chakra. This limitation cannot be removed.

Description: The user places their palm on a scroll or similar object that contains a seal. Using chakra, the user can unseal the scroll, obtaining whatever was hidden within.

Description: The user throws a projectile in such a way that it strikes another projectile in midair. Skilled users of this technique can even throw their projectiles in such a way as to purposefully change the direction of both projectiles.

Description: The user focuses chakra to their legs, allowing them to leap higher and further than they'd naturally be capable of. Using this technique, a ninja can easily leap to the top of a light pole, or jump across a wide road. This technique does not require handseals.

Kakuremino no Jutsu [Cloak of Invisibility Technique]
Requirements: A cloth of similar design to the background.
Description: The user hides behind a cloth, using chakra to make it blend in even better to the background, removing any apparent edges or folds on the cloth. This could render the user completely invisible if used with a cloth with an appropriate design.
Limitations:
- This technique must be used with an appropriate cloth. This limitation cannot be removed.
- Only very slight movements can be made while this technique is active. This limitation cannot be removed.
Weaknesses: Viewing the user from any angle that the cloth does not obstruct the user from the viewer's line of sight renders the technique useless. This weakness cannot be removed.
Cost: 5 (4) Chakra to create effect, 1 Chakra to maintain

Kage Shuriken no Jutsu [Shadow Shuriken Technique]
Requirements: 2 similarly sized shuriken
Description: The user throws two shuriken at once, hiding one shuriken behind or beneath the other. Chakra is used to ensure the second shuriken follows the first in such a fashion that the target cannot easily detect the second shuriken.
Cost: 5 (4) Chakra

Sakki [Killing Intent]
Description: The user employs chakra to project an air of intimidation to those around them. An especially high difference in ability results in a greater effect, potentially terrifying a target into paralysis. This technique does not require handseals, but typically requires eye contact.
Cost: 3 (2) Chakra per target

Genjutsu Kai [Mind Technique Release]
Description: While holding the Rat seal, the user forcibly halts their chakra flow, then rapidly rushes a greater amount of chakra to their head. This process disperses the chakra causing a Genjutsu to occur, and can break it in such a fashion.
- You must be able to form the Rat handseal, unless you have a means to cast this particular jutsu without handseals.
- You must break every Genjutsu effect on a single genjutsu at once, though if you are affected by multiple Genjutsu, you may choose which Genjutsu to target.
- You do NOT need to break an Aftershock effect.
- You do NOT need to break effects that your Willpower is allowing you to ignore.
- To break a genjutsu of a certain rank with Genjutsu Kai, you must possess the appropriately ranked version of Genjutsu Kai. There is a Genjutsu Kai for ranks C through S. If you possess a Genjutsu of that rank and each rank prior, you may ignore this requirement, so long as you have at least the C-ranked version of Genjutsu Kai. If you do not possess a genjutsu of the appropriate rank, a jutsu slot must be used to obtain the later ranks of Genjutsu Kai. Only the C-ranked Genjutsu Kai is free for non-Genjutsu using characters.
- Even those incapable of learning Ninjutsu or Genjutsu can use Genjutsu Kai.
- Genjutsu Kai may be used on another individual by contact. Other than the required handseal, all rules for Genjutsu Kai must still be followed while using it in this way.
Cost: The cost of the Genjutsu being countered + the cost of any active side-effects + 5 chakra for the base effect and any active side effects

Shunshin no Jutsu [Body Flicker Technique]
Description: The user holds a single seal and focuses their chakra for a few seconds. The user immediately moves to a new location, moving so fast that they appear to teleport. This is just chakra-assisted movement, however. This technique usually employs some sort of cover to further hide the user's movements. This technique may be used to move vertically, but it must begin while the user is on a surface they can push off of.
Limitations:
- The user cannot change direction once their movement has begun.
- The user cannot react to threats during their movement. This limitation cannot be removed.
- There must be no obstructions between the user and their intended end location. This limitation cannot be removed.
- This technique has a range limit of 20 feet. This limitation cannot be removed, only extended.
- If no cover is used, the opponent may see the user leaning in the direction they intended to go.

Chikaku [Perception]
Description: The user closes his or her eyes and focuses instead on one of their other senses. So long as the user does not open their eyes, their perception in regards to that single sense is doubled. This technique does not involve chakra.

Description: A vertical Iadiou draw technique aimed at the target's defense even when there is attacking and defending at the same time. The technique combines 3-steps focusing on balance, speed and awareness. A couple seconds after the slash there will be a audible creating a high-pitched dissonance, somewhat akin to the sound of metal being ground.

Item Name: Dáinsleif

Item Type: Sword

Dimensions: Blade length of 75 cm / 29.5 inches

Weight: 3 lbs

Appearance: Dáinsleif looks like a regular katana for the most part. However the blade appears to be dyed a crimson hue that belies its darker nature. In truth that is simply the natural color for the metal used. The scabbard and wrapping on the handle are both jet black and largely unassuming, making the weapon when sheathed seem like nothing more special than any other katana.

History: Dáinsleif is a weapon that for the better part of its history has rarely left the mountain it was forged on. Even the materials for the blade, its crimson metal, fell onto the mountain many centuries ago from the sky. The Tengu allowed a Kodogu smith access to the metal whose name has now been lost to the ages. For exactly 7 years that nameless smith toiled to create what would be his final and greatest creation.

When the sword was first presented to the Tengu in its finished state the smith draw it from its scabbard and presented the blade to be examined. When it came time for the blade to be returned to its sheath however the smith found that he could not. To the horror of those present he was forced to draw blood, and only then was he allowed peace. Since then the weapon has had many masters but few dared to draw it forth with the same audacity as its current wielder. If Dáinsleif could say that it was pleased with the one who holds it now there are many among the Tengu that feel like it would, but whether this combination of weapon and wielder will ultimately be for the good of all most reserve judgement for now.

Specialties:
- The blade is supernaturally durable and sharp, able to cut through even materials deemed as "indestructible" and withstand all but the most devastating blows in return. Obviously the tougher the material the more effort and time it would take to cut it, but this is largely negligible until getting to that aforementioned indestructible stage. This is not a function of chakra but a passive function of the blade's design and the materials it is forged from. The scabbard is likewise resilient but obviously not very good at cutting things like the sword.
- Wounds inflicted by this weapon cannot heal naturally, even with any sort of increased passive regeneration. Traits or abilities that increase healing are likewise ineffective. Chakra based healing still functions but at a quarter efficacy (this may not be increased in any way, nor further decreased) and it is exceptionally painful to the recipient of the healing.
- Dáinsleif delights in causing harm, and will go to lengths to aid the wielder in doing so. In cases where the user is actively trying to harm a target the weapon will veer towards the target should the user miss. It will also seek to guide the users arm to strike at someone that has been established as a foe even if the user is not actively trying to hit them. This is only enough to turn near-hits into actual hits and will not auto-hit all the things until the end of time.
- Any time the sword is drawn from its scabbard it must be used to draw blood before it can be returned. Otherwise it forces the user to wound themselves or those around them. This cannot be avoided in any way.
