The time to become a shinobi had come slowly but surely, Ninigi had finally enrolled into the ninja academy, and now he would officially ploy the trade of his forefathers. He had thought the day he walked past the gates would feel very special, but today had been a let down. Nothing had changed and he hadn't felt any awe deep inside. Perhaps it was because he had become mentally preoccupied by other things that weighed more to him than an institution that existed to instill basic shinobi techniques in individuals.

Or perhaps he did feel awe, but had somehow convinced himself that there was nothing special to drool over. Nonetheless he found a bench in the vast open grounds of the academy and sat there, pondering the worthiness of the occasion. The night before he had awakened the heirloom of his clan, a feat that proved him more worthy than he already was and suggested to him that he was levels above where he found himself. Could it be that in my bid to do things the way it's traditionally been done, I have slowed down my progress? He shook his head and then buried his face in his palms, slumping into the bench as he accepted his fate.

It was time for another day at the Academy, another day to learn new jutsu, and another day to practice the ones she was taught. Although she had a slight skip in her step, to the regular passerby, Keiko was walking rather poised and gracefully. She spent a great deal of time in her room getting ready and finding out which shoes to wear with which shirt and which type of...

Anyway, a long amount of time passed when she finally got out of her room, greeted her parents, and left the Kaguya clan residential area to head towards the Academy. She wasn't late per say but she was not early either. Keiko started her preparation early in the morning, almost before the sun began to rise from the horizon. It just reached about nine or ten when she came to school. Walking past the large entryway, she spotted a solitary figure slouching on a bench off in the distance but paid them no mind. She continued walking to what she figured to be a library of some sorts across the open field. Instead of cutting through the grass to save time and energy, she walked around the perimeter to avoid walking near the boy.

Ninigi would be able to see the customary clothing belonging to that of the Kaguya clan, but it didn't have the clan symbol on her clothing for him to actually know if she was truly from the clan or not. Despite that, her facial markings and the way her hair was styled would be a tell-tale sign of her association with the clan, should he be knowledgeable about the ancient clan similar to but less known compared to the Uchiha clan. It was said that all chakra came from Kaguya Ōtsutsuki which also meant the fabled Uchiha-clan's Sharingan eyes, the Hyūga's Byakugan, the Senju's, and the Uzumaki's alongside everyone else's came from the originator.

It would be very few moments of solitude and inner reflection, but while he was still at it, he would take notice of one of the people who had passed by his way today. It was probably the skip in her step that alerted him, but almost like instinct he would create a gap between his fingers and peek through. It was a girl around his age, quite a bit taller than he was, and dressed in an elegant lilac gown. He slowly and silently adjusted himself to attain proper posture on the bench and kept his eyes fixated on her. He could see the dots on her head, the nice dress, and the few inches she had over him, but nothing more. He couldn't put her into a clan or family but if he had to pick 5 the Kaguya would be one of them, unfortunately didn't know enough to know the fabled history of the Kaguya either.

He watched as she seemed to take the long way, perhaps she was avoiding him, perhaps she was just keeping off the grass, but whichever it was, it didn't seem like she was very interested in interacting with him. A frown almost found its way to his face, but then he would smile, remembering what his mum had told him to say to girls. "I don't bite." He would say out loud enough for her to hear clearly even if she was a couple more meters further away. He would then splay his palms over his knees and stretch his legs outward as he relieved some of the tension that now formed within him. He didn't like to speak out loud very often, but this time he had stepped out of his comfort zone.

The only thing she had wanted to do was learn more jutsu techniques and study at the library. So why was it that out of all the people in the Academy, this Uchiha had to try to stop her and talk with her? Everyone else had minded his or her own business. Why couldn't he? Keiko gave Ninigi one of the sharpest looks of irritation she had bottled up within her and turned back away and began walking even faster, her gait less hoppity-skippity and more 'let's get out of here as fast as possible'y.

Keiko thought about how the two of them would fair if pitted against each other. At their current level, it would probably be an even match. If she used her bones as a surprise attack, she could catch the Uchiha member off guard. Aside from learning how to 'sprout' bones from her body, the silver-haired teen had only ever been training with her father and mother with basic taijutsu skills.

She glanced back at him to see if he remained in place. Should she see him stand up and walk towards her. Keiko would stop promptly and turn to face him. Otherwise, she would notice that his body posture has changed from before.

Once she turned back and gave him the glare, Ninigi would lean backwards almost in synchronized fashion. He meant no harm, but perhaps suggesting he wasn't capable of harm was the wrong way to introduce himself. However he would not introduce himself this moment, for the look she had given was a dangerous one, one which kept his mouth sealed for at least a moment. Once she turned away from him and began to up her pace he would activate his Sharingan, allowing him to keep track of her feet movements perfectly.

As she walked further away from him, he wondered what about him had made her averse to his friendly approach. After all he just wanted to talk to someone, he wasn't trying to ask for family telephone line or anything like that. Or maybe she was in a rush, but he for some reason decided it was more about him than it was about her business. While he wondered she would stop in her stride and turn back to him, at that moment he would get off the bench and stand on his feet
"Would you like to have a seat?"

"No, not really," she replied curtly. Keiko had no reason whatsoever to stop and chat with this boy. One, she wanted to go to the library to study the applications of chakra so she can better understand how it works. Two, she had wanted to go there to see if there was any more information about her clan and more specifically, the Shikotsumyaku ability or so it was called where she is able to sprout bones from her body to use as self defense or to attack. It was a strange bloodline ability to have, something no one else really has. Even in her own clan, it is relatively rare to have this strange power. Keiko only knew of two people personally to actually have it. Their current clan leader Katsu and his only daughter, Kammi. While the latter is only a single year apart from her, she has displayed a great power within her that terrifies even the other members of the Kaguya clan. Even if Keiko doesn't know Kammi's bloody history, she has a sense that Kammi has a terrifying secret.

In either case, the teenager would get a tad bit more frustrated with Ninigi when he asked her the question. Keiko looked down and thought again about what she was doing. She was portraying herself rather rudely, and she didn't want to bring any negative feelings to her clan because of her. She took a deep breath in and exhaled, letting go of any negative thoughts she had building up within her. She stopped moving forward and stayed where she was for a moment before stepping out into the lawn to walk towards Ninigi.

Apologetic, Keiko bowed her head once she was close enough to talk normally without any raised voices. "I apologize for my rude behavior. I was.."

Irritated. And she still kind of was, even if she buried it deep inside. But she needed to step up and show the world that she could control herself and not be a pouty little child.

"-rude."

It seemed all of a sudden to Ninigi, that the girl's stance on this encounter had changed, or her approach had changed. Now he wasn't entirely sure if she was concealing a hostile intention which had piled up from his persistent friendliness. His sharingan remained wide awake as he watched and listened to her express her opinion on her previous actions. Rude...maybe He couldn't quite sure if he considered her previous ass rude, but perhaps he himself had a low standard for judging the behavior of others.

"That's fine, I didn't actually think you were ... rude." As he neared the end of his statement he remembered the evil eye she had shot him. Deep inside he sighed and a smirk almost found its way to his face as he hypothesized what might have just happened. He had only heard tales of it, but now perhaps, he had witnessed it first hand; the mind control power of the Sharingan. Had his eyes been responsible for the change in heart? Had he somehow sent signals that curtailed her brashness? Perhaps he was truly the Prince of the Uchiha his friends called him.

"My name is Ninigi, prince of the Uchiha clan. What do you call yourself?"

Keiko raised her head and looked straight into Ninigi's eyes. She saw the magatama-like markings in his red eyes. Although he only had two of the black commas in each eye, it still was an interesting sight to see. The Uchiha were known primarily for their genjutsu abilities using their special eyes. Aside from that, there wasn't much information known to her about this clan. Perhaps she could glean more information about them from this person?

The thought appeased her troubled mind temporarily as she sought out a way to gain the knowledge she wanted. She acknowledged his answer for her not being crass and nodded once, putting it behind her back. When he told his name as Ninigi of the Uchiha, Keiko placed her hand on her chest, replying in a manner befitting that of her clan.

"Keiko of the Kaguya clan." She wouldn't say much else, only because there wasn't really much to say. Most of the clan were known for their ability to withstand pain and fix their broken bones rather easily, but only a select few were actually able to create weapons out of their own bones. She would keep this little secret to herself as she pointed back towards the library.

"Would you like to head to the library? Or do something else instead? I don't have that much time to spend here."

[OOC: 2 Magatama actually, not one. *shakes fist*]

She would raise her gaze to meet his eyes, but she would not be looking up to him, seeing as he was a couple inches shorter than she was. Perhaps she would notice one tomoe first, but there were two on the perimeter surrounding his pupil. The Uchiha boy would be tempted to swirl the tomoe round, but he would restrain himself, he had done enough showing off today, and showing off wasn't something he did very often.

He would listen to her introduce herself and would repeat the words in his mind.Keiko of the Kaguya clan...those guys are pretty famous too. And quickly she would ask a very purposeful question. Oh, I've been doing completely nothing for a while now!"Right. The library isn't a bad idea, there's lots of stuff I need to learn." On one hand, the library meant they'd be heading to a place where she would be authoritatively required not to hear his voice anymore. On the other hand it meant they might go together, and might leave together, and even perhaps, this was the beginning of a friendship.

He put up a smile and then stretched his hand outward, pointing in the direction of the library and tilting his head similarly. "Shall we?"

Keiko nodded and began walking across the lawn back onto the pathway where one is supposed to walk on and headed to the library. It still hasn't reached quite noon yet, but the heat was slowly starting to pile on upon the two students. Of course, it was much cooler inside the library which was also one of the reasons she neglected to type out in her previous post. Of course each clan would keep their own secrets, but just how much public knowledge can one access about each individual clan and their special abilities? Only one way to find out, and that's through the place the Kaguya teen was standing right outside of.

She glanced back at Ninigi and looked to the library doors before heading into the building. Several tall bookshelves lined the center of the room. There were also several individual rooms off to the left and right where one can either read in peace or look up more of the specialized topics the village had to offer. And then there was the restricted section. One needed a specially signed note from one of the teachers to look in any of the restricted books. These were the books containing powerful Dark Magic never taught at Hogwarts, and only read by older students studying advanced Defense Against the Dark Arts. Of course, they were all sealed away by a fuuinjutsu so not anyone can just open them.

The teen would head towards the left side of the library in search of a few books pertaining to the applications of chakra, the basic jutsu most ninja should know and why it was useful, the incomplete history of Akarigakure and the new clans, and basically anything that caught her eye as she walked past rows and rows of bookshelves. After a few minutes, she would come back to a table near the center of the room with a stack of a dozen books in her arms before heading to the right side of the library and picking up about three more books that piqued her interest.

Keiko would look up and search for Ninigi at this point in time to see what he had picked up or what he did while she was gallivanting around inside the library.

He would smile as she nodded and would subsequently follow her back to the correct footpath. As they walked towards the library, a few drops of sweat would break out on his forehead, reminding him of the heat that came with midday, and the nervousness he had overcome today. You did good, talking to girls isn't so hard, remember that! Looking at the architecture of the library as they got closer his face would reveal only slightly how impressed he was. And another bonus is I get to stay out of the sun, great.

Just as they reached the entrance she would glance back at him, and he would simply stop in his tracks, his sharingan had been observing her closely enough for him to react as quickly as could have been done. In fact, if she didn't know he was behind, she probably wouldn't have realized as he had matched her footsteps and gait all along the way, from the bench to the library. For that brief moment that she looked back at him, he would smile and pass a remark. "I bet you look good on the dance floor. You walk nice."

Of course his untimely comment would do little to deter them from eventually entering the Library, and he would be glad he did come by the moment he was surrounding by towering book shelves. Once they begun looking for books, he would stick to her for a bit, before deciding it was best he didn't freak her out anymore. He would go his own way, find a few books that piqued his interest, and would end up at the table in the center. He would be there before her as he had only picked 4 books. While she hurried about picking books he would lay his four books in front of him and decide which he wanted to read first. The books were on Taijutsu, Fuuinjutsu, Combined Elements, and the History of Medicine.

When she finally arrived looked back at him, he would raise up his head and the red magatama in his eyes would quickly fizzle out, revealing normal black pupils. He had used the sharingan quite a bit today and had been impressed with his capacity to control it. Deep inside he smirked at the maturity that was coming his way quickly. What's she thinking? That's quite a lot of books.

The unneeded remark from Ninigi was very unexpected and a small flush appeared on her lips. Keiko quickly turned around and quickened her pace to the library, wishing her gait wasn't soo 'nice-looking'. Thoughts filled her mind while she collected herself in hopes of regaining her composure.

Skipping ahead to the table after she collected all of her books, she sat down at the table adjacent to the Uchiha's and took the first book out of the pile. Laying it down on the table in front of her, she read the title in her head.

'How Akarigakure was Formed'

Not a really eye-catching title but it worked as a study material, Keiko guessed. She opened the worn-out book and smelt the oldness of the book. This was probably created during that time period 80 years ago. She was rather surprised that it was still in circulation here at the library. One would normally copy the text into a new book when it gets as old as this, but this one seemed to escape the hellfire judgment that was reserved for books as old as this. It spoke about how the demons had destroyed all the villages and humanity in Seichi was almost lost and how it was saved by the new clans that pushed back the demons. In the middle of the desert, Akarigakure was formed next to the banks of a large river and it prospered under the guidance of the clans. And she belonged to one of the new clans and so did Ninigi.

Keiko looked up after her twenty minute read of the wholesome and boring story of Akarigakure to see what Ninigi was doing. Perhaps he was bored out of his mind and would leave her in peace, perhaps he had questions about the book he read that needed answers, or perhaps he had other thoughts in his mind. Regardless of what happened, she gave him a quick smile before her green orbs looked left at her stack of books and took down the second reading material.

Nini sat upright in his chair with the first book laid open to the first page. He kept his arms off the table and would only raise them when he wanted to flip the page. He had picked the book on Fuuinjutsu to read first. The concept of seals was a very nifty one and he had been thrilled to attend the academy class that taught the seal release technique. Once he got past the book he was reading he became fully absorbed in it, even turning on his Sharingan once more, hoping to not miss anything, and possibly unravel any secrets that might be hidden therein.

It was interesting to say the least, how the mind boggling physics of time/space could be manipulated cleverly by ninja. Just as a kunai and food could be sealed into a dimension locked away by a seal, their degradation halted, in a world otherwise unreachable from this plane, so could a beast be summoned from a distance. He had read through many examples of fuuinjutsu, their appearance and their applications, now he pondered on the concepts deeper. The most powerful manifestations of the Sharingan controlled this time/space conundrum as well, but perhaps those dimensions he had heard fables of were of another caliber.

He thought to himself...Is there an infinite number of dimensions that may be opened? Or are there a few, two, or three, and these seals only seal away objects into a tiny pocket, interacting with another vast realm, but only accessing a crumb from a giant slice in a giant cake? His elbows were on the table on the side of his book now, and he supported his head with the palms of his hands. Now he would be absorbed in his thinking process and would not be able to notice Keiko anymore, and unless she went out of her way to see his face.

An hour would pass by without much incident. Keiko finished her book on Quantum Physics and also a few magazines on National Geographic and found the topics discussed within very enlightening. For example, a group of quantum physicists went to Michigan every summer to discuss the topic which later ended up with the creation of a bomb soo powerful that it killed several thousands of people in Japan at the end of World War II. Also, new-born giraffes are taller than 6 feet and that the average giraffe sleeps about 10 minutes to 2 hours a day. A giraffe's heart weighs around 11 kg compared to the human's which weighs about 0.2 - 0.45kg.

She also figured out that Armadillos always give birth to four armadillo babies at a time. They are perfect quadruplets, the fertilized cell split into quarters, resulting in four identical armadillos. They could also walk underwater and also float on water by inflating themselves with air. There were also other things written inside that she didn't care to write up here in the post only because her creator didn't want to bother with looking up random facts about things. But what she did find about Armadillos and Giraffes were very interesting.

Keiko would look at her stack of diminishing books and realized that she was already halfway through reading them all. The teenager stretched and relaxed her muscles by standing up and walking around the library, curious about any other books she may have skipped on her first pass through. After a sufficient enough warm-up with a lap around the inside of the building, she headed back into the center of the room to sit back down into her chair.
