Mission Details

You have been hired by a theatre director to act as bodyguards to his lead actor during a play. It appears said actor recently bumped into a ranking member of a local organized crime syndicate, and they have marked him for death. Their goal seems to be to make his death scene a real one.

It was about time that the two recently graduated Academy Students would partake in missions. Even if it wasn't Keiko's first rodeo, it was most probably Ninigi's. The two were sent a letter written by the Hokage. The director of his troupe hired two of Akarigakure's ninjas to protect one of his lead actors. The actor was threatened by a mafia member and now feared for his life. During the show, Ninigi and Keiko would need to protect the show from any attacks and capture the assailants that would probably be sent to kill the actor.

Also written on the piece of paper was the time and location of the meet up point as well as the location of Tomoki the director.

The handsome one would arrive there a minute or two before scheduled. He had been hurried by his mum today and it seemed to have paid off, perhaps if he took his time he would only be leaving the Uchiha residence just about now. Today was bound to be different, he would be linking up with a friend from the academy whom he hadn't seen in almost half a year. The would be meeting to execute a mission of great importance to the village, or so he was made to believe, for every wrongly handled mission etched away a bit of the integrity of a nation and it's reputation. Today's mission involved protecting a life and thus was unlikely to be a meager task.

Nini's mind was already preoccupied with his own predictions of the show; what the show would be like, where the villainy would spring forth from, and how the heroics would go. Daydreaming was a thing he very much enjoyed, unfortunately he never saw such become reality, at least not yet. He snapped back to reality after a few minutes and appreciated the air, the temperature and the mild breeze. I wonder what other villages feel like.

So it was that Keiko would attempt to confuse the poor little boy who was most definitely not handsome. Having been dressed and prepared for the day hours before Ninigi, she had reached her meetup point a tad bit too early. In fact, she almost got soo bored that she decided to pull a small prank.

The girl flipped through the hand signs for the Transformation technique, or Henge no Jutsu, and turned herself into a self image of what she assumed she would look like when she would be eighteen, only with a different hair color. The meet-up location was in front of a diner near the main street. It was already around the time that people were starting to mill about their day doing whatever chores or tasks they were to do.

The buxom teenager of eighteen sat on a bench about ten meters away from the place they were supposed to meet, her legs crossed in front of her while her hands were busy being inspected by red eyes. Her lilac-colored hair was a tad bit wavy towards the ends and her white outfit was form-fitting and pretty short. Most of her legs were visible because the bottom of her shirt ended about eight inches from below her waist. Luckily, for the lewd-minded, she wore black thigh-high stockings.

Keiko was patiently waiting for Ninigi to come by and once the allotted time had arrived, she saw the familiar face of the Uchiha walk past her. She would give him a wink should they make eye contact and the teen would look back down to study her nails. It was only after five minutes passed that she would stand up and walk over to Ninigi.

It didn't initially occur to Ninigi that something was amiss but in a matter of minutes he would begin to notice. Keiko usually was the prompt one, in fact she was one to be ready way before time such that calling her timing "prompt" would be an understatement. Today she was running late; could something have gone wrong? Now, it wasn't entirely impossible that the Kaguya girl was capable of ever turning up late, but there was someone who had shared a resemblance to her, one whom Nini had locked eyes with minutes ago. Could it have been her? It can't be.

There was an older shinobi, one well developed, mature and beautiful, and she had unfortunately looked too much like Keiko, so much that Nini had turned his eye away once she winked at him. He knew that if he looked any longer his gaze would exceed the "polite" window and become an improper fixation of a stare. He secretly took another look at the direction of the buxom lady. It was tempting, and as long as he felt he was being stealthy about it the boy would keep looking. He had one of his palms over his face as though he was scolding himself for something, but this was just the front. His eyes peered through the space between his fingers as he continued to visually assess the Keiko look-alike. This isn't really a very smart thing to do...

Keiko wasn't one for jokes that often, so this was pretty hilarious on her account. She could barely hold in her laughter after Ninigi looked away from her but held it all in in the pretense of someone who was not Keiko. As she meticulously studied her nails to distract herself, she waited until the meet up time had passed and walked over to the boy covering his face.

She waved once and smirked, performing a single handseal which she held over her chest. A cloud of smoke would suddenly appear and envelope her. In the eighteen-year-old's place stood a silver-haired girl, her face contorted with laughter.

"Hi Ninigi~ Long time no see! How have you been? It's been almost half a year, hasn't it? Anything new happening aside from today?"

The girl would try to catch up on times, doing her best to keep a straight face while explaining most of the things she has done, including her birthday. Once all was said and done, Keiko would pull out her slip of paper that held pertinent information and would point in the direction of the director of the troupe.

"Shall we?"

Once the lady got up from her position Ninigi would begin to fume with himself, as he suffered some slight embarrassment from her approach. She's coming to confront me and my lechery!!! He would drop his hand from his face, revealing eyes that he seemed to struggle to open. He would then proceed to pretend as though some tiny particles like dust had found their way to his eyes. However the buxom girl would seem to wave at him, before she performed a basic jutsu which transformed her to Keiko, or perhaps "un-transformed" her.

Ninigi's face would immediately contort a disappointed expression. "Really though? Really?" He turned away from her laughing face for a moment and folded his arms, he wasn't pleased at all. He would keep himself from saying anything destructive as he tried to calm himself down quickly successfully. Turning back to face the Kaguya girl he would have a smile on his face. "Well it's nice to see someone has learned humor over the past few months." He would smirk and then proceed to reply her initial statements."It has indeed been a while, I've been good Keiko, how are you? I've gained other creative, weird interests, like mimicking monkeys and bird watching, archery too!"

"Have you heard from Sakura, how's she doing?" His eyes lit up as he asked about Sakura, he really did miss her, after all she had been the warmest girl he met in the academy. Despite her being an idol and being super popular she had been pretty down to earth. Once they were done with their catch up Keiko handed the Uchiha a slip which he would take and read through. Nodding once he was done he would hand her the slip back and reply her. "We shall. Ikuzo!"

Keiko nodded her head and smiled at Ninigi, replying back with a paragraph of her own.

"I've been doing well. It took me a while, but I finally learned how to do the Tree Climbing technique. You know, I've never actually climbed up a vertical surface while my body was parallel to the ground. My stomach hurt soo much the first week.."

The young girl rubbed her stomach as if the phantom pain came back to haunt her. She looked back up at Ninigi and continued talking.

"Our idol is doing fine! Even if her internet was cut off from time to time, she still finds time to RP here and do stuff. We recently went on a mission together to go deliver one of those small idols-" she motioned the shape and size of the figurine with her hands while talking, "-to a NEET. Guess what? The figurine was of the Dezaki twins! I almost bursted out laughing when we picked it up from the vendor. Sakura hid her face via a Henge so she wouldn't be discovered in the middle of the marketplace. Oh what fun that day was!"

"Anywho- Let's start our mission Ninigi! Glad to have you by my side."

Now if one would notice, Keiko's demeanor towards others have softened and she opened herself up to more conversations and the like. Before she used to be reclusive and whatnot, but that was only because of the pressures her family unknowingly gave her. Now that she experienced Academy life and how fun it actually was, this is where her 'springtime of youth' starts. Although there are still the threat of Akuma lingering around... those demons could kill you..

Tomoki was a short and stout man that had a mustache and a bushy beard on his face. It was not normal for someone to have a beard here in the Narutoverse, but the director had one. Go figure. He was located in the eastern side of Akarigakure, where open spaces and fashion reigned the particular section of the village. This was where art and culture flourished and every once in a while a performance from the Dezaki twins were performed here as well as other things like Tomoki's troupe performance. His small group of actors and actresses were well known throughout the village and today was the day they were to perform on stage.

The stage was set on a large dais with several seats facing towards the platform. To the sides were large coverings where the actors could go in and out of the stage to do their performance. Today's performance? It was a play called 'To Kill a Lover and a Cheater'. One of the actors, a man named Masaki, accidentally bumped into a group that belonged to a crime syndicate. He was able to get away safely only because the actor was in the middle of a large group of people, but on the very next day, he received a note in his mailbox saying that his day was to come when he performs.

Once Ninigi and Keiko reached the location, they would be beset by several stage crew who were busy assembling the props and seating arrangement for the play. Tomoki was front and center, directing where each thing needed to go and how it needed to be placed. Positioning was key to a successful play, and he would have no errors happening.

The conversation was as informal as it got and Ninigi would have fun chipping in his own jest into it."Haha! Are you sure your stomach doesn't hurt because there'es a baby inside?" The talk about their idol would also draw a broad smile and a bit of laughter from the Uchiha Prince, but it wouldn't be long thereafter that they would decide to focus on actually setting off the mission. Anyone who had watched the two from a distance would have imagined they had probably been best of friends for a long time now. In truth, Keiko had only now started to open up, perhaps this came with age and maturity, but either way Ninigi loved the mood.

--------

Once they were at their site, Ninigi would fold his arms across his chest and glance around the stage and its environs. In his view but not in focus were the stage crew who were trying to put the place in order as directed. It seemed as though Ninigi was looking for possible exits a criminal could escape from but it wouldn't take him too long to be satisfied with what he had seen. "You want to talk to the Director?" Ninigi would try to push the initiative to Keiko as he felt a bit repulsed by Tomoki's beard.

Whether or not she proceeded to talk to the man, Nini would begin scrutinizing the crew with his eyes. He looked sparingly for a few seconds at each member before moving to the next, his eyes consequentially meddling into whatever it is they were doing at the moment. Lastly he would focus on Tomoki the director. Only if I could see the heart's intentions with my eyes...one day, maybe.

A quick glare and an attempted punch to the stomach was all that Ninigi got as a reply.

- -

The venue was still under construction, but it all looked fairly interesting to Keiko. She looked around and took in the sights, a tad bit in awe at the detail and effort that was being made to create the atmosphere. It was obviously nothing compared to the Dezakis' stages, but it was getting there.

The silver-haired Kaguya retorted at the Uchiha's question, albeit in a slightly joking manner.

"Pfft. Mr. Prince can't even talk to a person. Just relax and look around then."

As if she got a page from Sakura's book, Keiko 'skipped' towards the director, giving him her most enthusiastic and completely fake smile.

"Mr. Tomoki? Hi~ We are the genin dispatched to help you with your little problem with Masaki."

She stared at his beard, wide-eyed and confused why hair was growing at such an odd place on the body. Most, if not all, the people she has seen had no a single hair on their chin. Was he wearing a beard wig?

"Few questions before we get to work, sir. Where are the actors and actresses currently located? How did he receive the threat from this particular 'group'? Any other security measures you have thought up with to prevent anything harm to your people and customers?"

Seeing how the 'evil' crime syndicate knew exactly where Masaki lived, one could assume that they knew the lead actor on a personal level. Why wait until their play to do it when they could have offed him in his sleep without warning him? Public humiliation? Infamy? Personal grudge? Maybe the bump on the street and the death threat were two separate things?

Mr. Bushy turned around to see the excited young girl talking to him. He looked down at Keiko and out towards Ninigi. All that money spent for protection and all he was able to afford was two young children to protect the life of his lead actor. Seriously, what was the Asakage thinking of? Did he not really care about this request? Or were these children stronger than he thought?

Whatever the case, he proceeded to answer the questions the Kaguya girl brought forth.

"My people? They should all be in the tent set up behind the stage. You can see it over in the distance there."

He pointed over behind the stage. Quite a distance away was a large canvas tent that could possibly house at least ten people inside. It was decorated on the outside thanks to the workers here so that it would blend in with the background of the stage props as well. A really well-thought idea.

"As for the threat, it came in the form of a letter delivered to the front step of Masaki's door. He came straight to me with the letter and was scared. I suggested stopping the show because of this threat, but he really wanted to continue it, saying that it was for the people. Security? I hired shinobi. Do the both of you think you can handle this job?"

"That's because Princes let the subjects do the talking."

He muttered to himself with a grin on his face as Keiko walked up to the director to speak to him. He really didn't like the man's beard and knew he would currently find it hard to maintain his composure if he was up close and talking to the man. To be honest, it wasn't like he hated the beard, he just thought it was comical; an absolute joke of a facial feature on the man. In fact as Keiko began talking to him he began to wonder if the man actually looked in the mirror after fitting the hairy accessory on. Yes, Ninigi was now partly convinced it wasn't some natural growing feature that had taken years to cultivate, but now he was considering the possibility that it was fixed.

Perhaps this was the director's reply to the clown's rubber nose, despite it looking more real, it invoked similar sentiments from the Uchiha. Once the man pointed over to the stage, Ninigi snapped out of his trance, his eyes now following th length of the arm stretched to the stage. He looked behind the stage and sized the tent up, perhaps there was something interesting going on right now. How did the actors and actresses calm their nerves and warm up for the show right before it starts? Perhaps he would find out today, perhaps not. Once Mr. Bushy had concluded by asking if they could handle it, Ninigi would nod and speak up.

"Can we interview the actor, and just look around the tent, we might talk to the others a bit?"

"Or you don't think we need to, Keiko?"

The director's beard was pure, 100%, all-natural, and organic. He glanced at Ninigi from time to time, his beard waving hello in tandem with the looks. My, how it just flowed with each little movement of the head was such a mesmerizing sight, anyone would be captivated by such a wonderful facial accessory. Except Ninigi. Because he hates beards apparently.

"By all means, ask away. Just don't make them feel stressed or worried. They do have a show coming up soon."

Tomoki bowed his head briefly and got back to managing the set up for the show's props, seating, and lights. The two genin were left alone to do whatever they wanted to do until the show starts. As long as no one dies tonight and everyone is safe, the director would call his mission request a success.

"Don't make me hurt you."

Keiko shot him a look slightly powered with a technique Ninigi should be familiar with. Even if it was meant as a joke, she shot him with Sakki, or Killing Intent, an Academy basic technique.

Whilst talking with the director, her partner seemed intent on studying every little facet of the location as well as the people currently present. The Kaguya didn't mind him doing such a thing if it wasn't terribly necessary; he could potentially see something that she couldn't, since he had the Sharingan eyes. She did know that it granted its user a better insight towards combat and possibly noticing things in greater detail, but other than that, the silver-haired girl did not know much yet about his special Uchiha eyes.

Once the inquiry was done and the students gleaned as much information as they can from the director, Keiko replied to Ninigi's question.

"Why not? I'll do something else in the meantime."

The tent was a few meters away from the back of the stage. The entrance to the tent was off to the right side. A couple of people were walking in and out of it, seemingly in their own world as one was rehearsing lines from their play while the other was completely tired as they walked out of the tent. Inside the tent was how a typical play tent looked: from the several outfits hanging on one side with the dressing rooms in the back, there were several chairs and desks outfitted with mirrors to the left for the actors and actresses to sit in front of to do their makeup or whatnot.

The person named Masaki was sitting in front of one of these vanity mirrors fixing his hair and applying some hair product onto it to keep it in place. Sheena was sitting next to him doing the same while Komie was picking an outfit and heading over to the dressing room to change her clothes. The others were either rehearsing or talking amongst themselves as they prepared for the play to happen. A total of eight people were inside the tent.

Ninigi almost chuckled when she threatened him with violence. His mind quickly raced to their spar months ago where he had been the loser, or so he imagined their spectator thought. Ninigi considered his fate "defeat with handicap"; he had been forced to not use Katon for its harmful reasons and had thus set himself up for a battle that involved his most inept qualities. Fortunately over the past few months his physical ability and close quarters skill had improved. Haha...Keiko the warrior, steel ankles.

Once Keiko was done speaking to the man she would give the Uchiha boy the go ahead and his eyes would beam with excitement. Now if only he was as skilled a sharingan user as his father, he would be able to intimidate the actors enough to get the truth out of even the most machiavellian amongst them. He sighed and then took off in a light jog off towards the tent where he had been given the chance to speak to the actors.

He would make his way towards the backstage area and find his way to the tent's entrance on the right. "Good day everyone. I'm one of the shinobi from Akarigakure sent to ensure your security. I would like anyone who has any information to tell me everything they know about the threat today."

"Masaki, let's start with you."

While Ninigi went into the tent itself to do some reconnoitering of the inside as well as gather intelligence from the subjects themselves, Keiko took this time to look around and stare at the people present. Fifteen people were in 'uniform' setting up the play. They were hard at work putting up lights, setting up props, doing the seating arrangements, etc.

Tomoki was near the middle of everything, calmly analyzing everything and correcting the slightest mistake he saw. As expected of a famous director, with several years' worth of plays and stage set up under his beard and belt, he knows exactly what kind of set up would give the most amount of impact to his audience.

The Kaguya thought hard on what her mission was and what it might entail. The target was Masaki. Who put the target on him? This low-life crime syndicate. Who could be involved? The director himself? He was the one who is paying for the protection detail. Could he have gotten genin on purpose because he thought that we were too weak to protect his actor from attacks? The idea seemed too far-fetched to consider. She didn't completely dismiss it however but instead put it in the back of her mind.

Could it have been any of the actors or actresses performing with him? Masaki was the lead actor, he could have bumped someone off when he took the role of the main. There may be a grudge that's just about to surface now. Was it personal? Someone who knew the actor personally? Or was it simply the syndicate acting on their own accord? In either cases, Keiko decided not to trust anyone except for herself and Ninigi on this situation. It would seem like the best way to proceed continuing forwards.

Everyone inside the tent would be startled by the Uchiha's sudden speech. They all turned to look at the little shrimp of a boy standing at just above five feet. This kid is going to protect Masaki? They all turned to look at their lead actor, who gulped loudly in fright. Here he was trying to calm his nerves for the past hour, then all of that was thrown out the tent when everyone, and he meant EVERYONE, looked at him. It didn't help that Ninigi mentioned 'threat' in his exclamation. This was something similar to stage fright. He had years of experience with him and performed flawlessly on stage. This looming threat of death in the play spooked him and was basically a fresh babe first starting out his career in acting.

Masaki would be first on the interrogation list and Ninigi would approach the actor. As best he could, he recounted the story he told his director about the accidental bump to the letter at his door. No additional information would be given aside from what the Uchiha already knew, and the actor would shake uncontrollably after he was done talking. How was he going to act now? He's going to die, today! No one is going to prevent that, not even this little kid from the supposed Ninja Academy.

Everyone else would give a similar speech to the boy as they got their source from the director himself. Nothing new would be gleaned from having talked with everyone in the tent nor would their expressions betray any sort of hidden malice they could have towards Masaki.
