Akuma are creatures of incredible power, composed entirely of living chakra. For a long time, they were sealed away in a different dimension-but events of the last century have unleashed them upon the lands of Seichi. In response, the ninja of the land formed various seals used to contain the beasts in living targets, to both quell the threat of the raging demons and to harness their incredible power.

Not all Akuma are created equal, however-some are considerably weaker than others, though each is dangerous. While Akuma come in a tremendous range of forms, they have been categorized by the ninja of the land into five different levels- C, B, A, S, and Z. The various levels of Akuma will be described below.

Note about Jinchuuriki Seals

A seal that seals an Akuma inside a human being is referred to as a Jinchuuriki Seal. Jinchuuriki Seals can only be placed on Akuma once they have been significantly weakened. These seals must be at least the rank of the Akuma being sealed, though if it is higher ranked than the Akuma in question, it may be able to ignore some of its limitations, weaknesses, or drawbacks, and may even provide additional benefits. Lastly, a Jinchuuriki may only possess a single Jinchuuriki Seal. Trying to apply a second Jinchuuriki Seal to a Jinchuuriki will cause the second seal to fail, and the chakra used will be wasted. Affecting a Jinchuuriki seal after its placement requires a jutsu that specifically targets these types of seals. If a character is created to be a Jinchuuriki upon creation, it is to be assumed that the seal is completely ordinary, has no extra benefits or penalties, and only functions to allow the Jinchuuriki to access the Akuma's chakra as normal.

Applying for an Akuma

There are three separate methods to approach becoming a Jinchuuriki OOC. The first is simply to create a character that is already a Jinchuuriki by the time it is created. In this instance, you would apply for your Akuma, create your character as usual, and that would be that. In this case, an Akuma sealed inside a newly created character cannot be higher ranked than the character in question (other than Academy Student / D-ranked characters). It is possible to have an Akuma sealed in your character without having access to it; in this case, you must note in your Advanced Abilities section that you are a Jinchuuriki, but are not spending points on it yet. Keep the specifics of how you obtained your Akuma reasonable-a Jounin may have conceivably defeated and sealed an Akuma into their own body. An Academy Student would not.

The second is that, in the course of the RP, an NPCer may introduce an Akuma into a thread. In this instance, the NPCer will fill out the application, and whoever the beast is sealed within-if anyone at all receives it-is given the application. The recipient may not alter any aspect of this application in this case.

The third is to request the addition of an Akuma into a thread with the express intent of sealing it in your character. This request is to be made in the mission application itself. If approved, you may then fill out the appropriate template and apply for it in the Advanced Ability section. If THAT is approved, the NPCer will then include that beast in the thread in question, at which point, the sealing may then be attempted.

While it may be tempting to immediately request an S-ranked Akuma, keep in mind that approval does not mean you are guaranteed to succeed, and in fact, it is possible for your character to actually be killed by a beast you applied for. Until you begin sealing A-ranked Akuma, it is possible to unseal an Akuma from a human without negative consequence, so it is quite conceivable that you can start with a C-ranked Akuma and upgrade to a stronger one later. Be mindful of your character's power and abilities before you request something you cannot handle.

Lastly, make sure there is actually someone in the thread who is willing and capable of sealing the Akuma inside of you. An NPC sealer will, in most cases, NOT be provided. Requesting an Akuma in a thread in which there are no Fuuinjutsu users would be almost entirely pointless.

Upgrading Your Akuma

Most characters who begin as Jinchuuriki will do so with a fairly weak Akuma; C-rank, most likely. Early in their lives, this could be a pretty substantial boon-later on, however, it is entirely probable that a Jinchuuriki will want to increase their power. There are two ways to do so-the easy and slow way, or the difficult and fast way.

- The first method is the easy way; as a ninja with an Akuma sealed inside them increases in power, so too does that Akuma find its own power enhanced; i.e, as a character ranks up, their Akuma can promote with them, up to that character's rank. A new application is to be made for the Akuma befitting their new rank, and no further action is required to retain the more powerful Akuma. The seal used to seal the Akuma retains its previous ability to contain the beast, despite any rank discrepancies.

- The second method is more dangerous and more difficult; a ninja can have their previous Akuma unsealed, making way for a new one of higher rank. A new Akuma can then be sealed inside the ninja in question. When this is done, all the usual rules for sealing an Akuma must be obeyed as usual-the seal must be the proper rank, and the Akuma must be essentially defeated. This method has its share of danger besides, however-if an Akuma is unsealed, it then roams free. If you purchased traits to improve your relationship with your previous Akuma, you are not refunded for those traits and they cannot be applied to the new Akuma; you must purchase them a second time to have them apply.

C-rank Akuma are the weakest in the land, but even a C-rank Akuma is more than a match for an average human. A team of Genin is generally thought to be capable of defeating a C-ranked Akuma on their own. They are usually the size of a large animal, such as a horse or elephant, and sealing them is a somewhat trivial matter. Once sealed, they provide their host with minor benefits, but it is more common for these Akuma to be repeatedly destroyed rather than sealed away.

Those with a C-rank Akuma sealed within them are only capable of accessing the Initial Jinchuuriki Form.

B-rank Akuma are more powerful than their C-ranked brethren, but are still among the less powerful embodiments of demonic chakra. A team of Chuunin is typically capable of handling a B-ranked Akuma on their own, though the sealing of one of these beasts is somewhat more difficult. These creatures are typically the size of small buildings, and provide their hosts with significant power once sealed. While these beasts are sometimes simply destroyed, their sealing is more commonplace than their weaker cousins.

Those with a B-ranked Akuma sealed within them are capable of accessing up to the Jinchuuriki Version 1 form.

A-rank Akuma are quite powerful, but as far as Akuma are concerned, they are still only middle of the road. A team of Jounin is typically a match for a single A-ranked Akuma. These creatures tend to match some of the larger summonings in size. The sealing of an A-ranked Akuma is a complicated process, and the unsealing of one is typically fatal if not immediately replaced. The power these beasts confer onto their human hosts is tremendous. When encountered, emphasis is given to sealing these creatures as often as possible, for they are simply too dangerous to be allowed to roam freely.

Those with an A-ranked Akuma sealed within them are capable of accessing up to the Jinchuuriki Version 2 form.

S-rank Akuma are the most powerful that may be sealed inside of a human. Only the most elite of shinobi stand a chance of defeating these Akuma, who can dwarf even the greatest of summonings. Sealing an S-ranked Akuma is an incredibly intricate procedure, and only experts of Fuuinjutsu ever attempt it. The unsealing of an S-ranked Akuma is always fatal unless immediately replaced. The power these beasts can unleash in their hosts is unmatched, and when encountered, their sealing is of tantamount importance. A single unsealed S-rank Akuma can potentially destroy an entire Hidden Village.

Those with an S-ranked Akuma sealed within them are capable of accessing the full extent of a Jinchuuriki's power, expressed as either Demon Mode or Akuma Chakra Mode.

Z-rank Akuma, thankfully, are almost never encountered-in all of Seichi's history, only three of these fiends have ever been witnessed firsthand. The Reaper, destroyed by the Great Wolf's host Zaulyl, and the Twins of Ice and Fire, whose reawakening tore open the barrier between the two worlds and made the land what it is today. These immeasurably powerful beasts cannot be sealed, and in their natural states, are like living mountains. Defeating these creatures is generally thought to be impossible, and the only option available to those who meet them is to run. Only once has a beast of this caliber been destroyed.

As these beasts cannot be sealed, a template will not be provided for these creatures.
