The Eight Gates are eight specific tenketsu (Chakra Points) on a person's Chakra Pathway System. They naturally limit the overall flow of chakra within a person's body. This makes the body much weaker, but it keeps the body from expiring too soon. By undergoing intense training, one can learn how to open these gates, allowing the user to surpass their own physical limits at the cost of extreme damage to their own body.

Due to the immense amount of chakra flooding the body all at once, drastic changes can occur upon the user's body. The most common of these changes are the changes to skin color, eruption of veins around the temples, and the eyes turning completely white.

Obtaining any one of the Gates does not mean you have to keep progressing. It is very probable that you'd only want the first five or so, and stop there. However, obtaining each Gate requires having previously obtained the Gate before it. No other ability may provide a benefit matching that of the final Gate, even other Advanced Abilities.

NOTE - At any level of the Celestial Gates, the user will be able to keep track of their own movements. This is not a blanket upgrade to the user's Perception, it merely enhances the user's ability to keep track of their own movements.

NOTE - The Chakra Cost of each individual Gate may seem small at first glance; however, these costs are cumulative. So, the 4th Gate uses 40 chakra to open-but you must also spend 30 on the third, 20 on the second, and 10 on the first. In total, the 4th Gate costs 100 chakra as a result. Without traits allowing for such, Gates must be opened sequentially, one at a time, up to 2 per post. Opening a new gate refreshes the duration; if you spend 3 posts with the first gate and then open the second, you still have the second gate's full duration.

The Gates

1st Gate - Kaimon, the Gate of Opening

Kaimon, the Gate of Opening, is located in the brain. Opening Kaimon allows for the user to remove the restraints the brains sets on the user's muscles, allowing one to use the full potential of their muscles. Those who activate Kaimon receive a 10% boost to Strength and Speed, but suffer a 5% debuff to Endurance and Stamina, as a result of their muscles being pushed to their utmost limits. This Gate costs 1 Advanced Ability Point.
