Name: Hagane no Noroi [鋼の呪い], The Curse of Steel

Clan/Organization: Kodogu

Jutsu/Bloodline History: Since time immemorial the Kodogu have had an affinity for metal, whether working that metal and using it as a weapon. It was with metal that they carved out a name for themselves, both on and off the field of battle. To them, the fight itself was only there to test out their craftsmanship. How well does my blade fare against that of my foe? Can this armor take a hit, does it have any weak spots, and is it too bulky? Takashi Kodogu was the first to take this one step further. To him, the spirit of the steel spoke to them, told him what needed be done for a sharper edge or a tougher plate. When he took to the field, he brought with him all of those spirits, and at the zenith of his power even claimed to channel the Kōkami himself.

Using his abilities Takashi led the Kodogu into a new age of prosperity. Never had their craftsmanship been in as high a demand, and when the clan moved to foreign lands to join Akarigakure they saw it simply as an opportunity to create more with better materials. So it came to be that Takashi formed the Priesthood of Steel, a spiritual organization within the Kodogu that the most proficient wielders of the Hagane no noroi would later belong to. The goal of this group was to guide those who seek perfection of their craft into attaining that perfection. All of the Kodogu have the potential to gain the Hagane no noroi and join the priesthood, but doing so requires a focus and passion that few possess. It is a mark of true dedication to their craft when a Kodogu hears the whispers of metal.

Description: The Hagane no Noroi focuses on manipulation of all tools. Upon activation of the bloodline a Kodogu's eyes are turned into a steel-grey color as long as any specific bloodline powers are manifesting or the Koton element is being used, similar to how the Speaker caste function when using any chakra. As they advance through the stages of the bloodline their skin begins to take on steel-like qualities, but beyond that the changes that occur vary with the path chosen. The initial stage is the only common stage among all who have the Hagane no Noroi; once a path is chosen beyond that the other paths become closed to the initiate.

Initial Stage: Path of Steel

Description: The first stage is defined by a tougher body, the Kodogu's skin taking on some of the properties of the deity they worship. Other than the hardening there isn't an obvious change, although they do tend to weigh more while retaining their normal shape and size.

Activation: All Kodogu have the potential to master the bloodline, but few have the skill necessary to appease Kokami. Activating the first stage involves an extreme obsession to their craft that is rare even among the clan of smiths. By entering a meditative trance while contemplating or crafting metal a Kodogu is able to hear the whispers of Kokami, and what that metal is best suited for. Working in this state enables a Kodogu to awaken their bloodline naturally.

Requirements: None, optionally may RP out the communion with Kokami.

Strengths:

- The user gains a body with armor-like endurance. The power of this enhanced durability is affected by the users stage in the bloodline (this being the first stage). Their bodies are about as durable as heavy armor of the D-rank, and increases per stage obtained up to S rank at the 5th stage. This alteration of the user's flesh in no way hinders the users mobility, ability to recover from damage, or ability to don other equipment or armor. The user's Endurance is applied on top of this natural durability, with their new baseline being the armor-like durability granted by their bloodline.
- The user gains a mind that is like a heavily fortified bastion. For every stage gained by the user in the bloodline (this being the first stage) when fighting off genjutsu the user gets a buff of 20 to willpower per stage of the bloodline specifically towards countering the effects of the genjutsu. Additionally it allows them to always know when you are under the effect of a genjutsu. At stage 5 the user may treat the original genjutsu effect as a modified effect and reduce it as well (as with the resilience skill or having a high willpower).
- The user gains access to Koton. It must be purchased as normal, but the user does not require the Combined Chakra Nature Kekkei Genkai to do so.

Costs: 2 AA

Transplant Costs: 1 AA (The transplant requires a blood sample from the Kodogu, and regardless of what stage or path the Kodogu in question had the transplant always yields the initial stage.)

Path of the Juggernaut

Description: Those who follow the Path of the Juggernaut are often but not always quite massive, usually growing in size upon attaining the second stage and continually growing as further stages are unlocked. Juggernauts gain strength and fortitude unmatched by any other member of the bloodline, able to outright ignore wounds and effects that would down lesser shinobi. While the Form of the Colossus is active the user appears to be encased in a suit of metal, although what this suit looks like is up to the individual (should be apped when this stage is taken).

Activation: The Way of the Juggernaut is the most warlike path an initiate can take. Unlike some of the more refined paths, it isn't unlocked through dedication or focus, but on the field of battle. To unlock the Way of the Juggernaut the user must be in a situation where they are in the thick of battle, as well as be in mortal peril.

Requirements: Path of Steel, 15 Endurance for stage 2, 30 Endurance for stage 3, 45 Endurance for stage 4, 60 Endurance for stage 5

Strengths:
- Juggernauts increase the armor benefits from Path of Steel by 1 tier (instead of getting C rank armor at stage 2 you would get B rank). This works up to stage 4, at stage 5 this turns into the following;
* At stage 5 the user gains powerful regenerative abilities. Passively this leads to moderate automatic healing (minor wounds heal in a few seconds on their own, major wounds heal in a few posts), although they may choose to allow a wound to heal naturally. Additionally they may reduce by half the severity of any effects of their own jutsu that damages their body, if there are numbers involved. If there are not, it is to be assumed that the user is simply more resilient against that effect. This healing costs 15 chakra per square cm of healed flesh.
- Due to the Juggernauts enhanced size and weight their blows are more powerful and it becomes more difficult to resist knockback. This is a minor benefit at stage 2 and a powerful benefit at stage 5 with normal scaling in between.
- For every stage gained of the bloodline, Juggernauts gain the ability to passively resist more and more potent poisons or other irritants as their immense constitution purges it from their system. Each stage affects one rank higher, with the first stage affecting D rank. If a rank is affected then the post duration is lowered by two, and any negative effects are halved if applicable.
- Juggernauts gain access to the ability "Form of the Colossus". This greatly enhances their size and other bloodline abilities. Activating Form of the Colossus causes the following benefits for the duration of the activation:
> The users size increases anywhere from 2 to 3 times.
> The users further enhanced weight makes it even more difficult to resist their blows.
> If the user has not unlocked the final stage the passive healing is granted while in this form. If it has been unlocked already it is further enhanced and now reads: Powerful automatic healing (Major wounds heal in one post; normally fatal wounds heal in several posts). It instead costs 20 chakra per square cm of healed flesh.
> All other bloodline scaling benefits are increased by one tier to a maximum of the normal cap. If the final stage has been unlocked the poison protection is doubled.

Costs: 2 AA points per stage (50 to activate Form of the Colossus, 25 to maintain)

Transplant Costs: N/A (See initial stage)

Path of the Shifter

Description: Shifters are among the most flexible operatives that the Kodogu have to offer. Although they retain their metal skin it becomes fluid and changeable according to their will allowing them to adapt to almost any situation.

Activation: The Way of the Flesh is often but not always one of subterfuge and deception. It requires an individual who can control an oft forgotten aspect of metal, it's malleability. The first transformation usually occurs in a controlled environment within the Kodogu compound, where there is a training ground for aspirants. More rarely though, some have had their first change occur in high stress situations if they have already been working towards this path.

Requirements: Path of Steel, at least 20 posts of studying others and trying to understand them/how to act like them for stage 2. Stage 2 requires 20 speed and agility, stage 3 requires 40, stage 4 requires 55 and stage 5 requires 75.

Strengths:

Stage 2
- Disguise self: The user is able to change their appearance at will, emulating the looks of other people or beings that are roughly their own shape and size. The user must be within 25% of the same size for this ability to work.

Stage 3
- Disguise self: The ability can be used as described in stage 2, or it can also allow the user to undergo a full change right down to their chakra signature, smell, etc. The size limit is changed to 50%.
- Chakra detection: The initiate gains rudimentary passive chakra detection that works within 50 meters, and can ascertain the chakra signature and nature of an individual if they focus on them for a few seconds. This cannot be used to track or otherwise use other chakra detection benefits with, it is simply an evolved means of determining your marks signature so you can emulate it.
- Partial shift: The initiate is capable of performing a partial shift of their body rather then undergoing a full change. They are capable of changing their body in any way they can realistically imagine (forearm into sword, literal spring in their step, etc), although the durability is gated by what stage of the bloodline they possess (stage 3 allowing up to B rank durability as an example). They may also not increase or decrease their size by more than 50%, nor may they create something from nothing (ie if they do not already possess wings they cannot create wings from nothing). The speed of the shift is dictated by the initiates agility. This ability to change their physiology at will also makes it near impossible to attack the initiates organs unless the attacker is able to pinpoint them even as they move. That being said an organ once damaged cannot be repaired without the appropriate jutsu.

Stage 4
- Disguise self: The limit on size is changed to 75%.
- Partial shift: The limit on size is changed to match the limit for disguise self. Additionally the user may "grow" up to 2 additional limbs/appendages/etc which can be no larger than 175% any of the users other limbs/appendages/etc at normal size.

Stage 5
- Disguise self: The limit on size is changed to 200% larger allowing the user to grow up to three times in size, and 90% smaller allowing them to become 1/10th normal size.
- Partial shift: The limit on size is changed to match the limit for disguise self. Additionally the user is able to replicate complex artificial mechanisms if they are able to understand them.

Costs: 2 AA per stage (50 chakra for any use of Disguise self, 35 chakra for every partial shift)

Transplant Costs: N/A (See initial stage)

Way of the Speaker

Description: Those who follow the Way of the Speaker are in some ways the most revered of all initiates. Speakers are the Kodogu who are the most in tune with metal, able to sense it's presence and in some ways "speak" with it. Their abilities focus exclusively on the use and manipulation of metal. In terms of physical qualities, there is nothing that distinguishes a speaker from any other initiate save for one fact: upon any use of chakra whatsoever the initiate's eyes turn a steely grey.

Activation: The induction of a new speaker into the order is always a large and official affair. The potential has to be there, and the priesthood know to look for it. Potential candidates are taken to a hidden room in the Kodogu compound where they undergo a series of tests before an artifact known only as the Conduit. Most fail, but the rare few that manage to activate it's properties as instructed to remain in the room for 24 hours. What happens in that time is a secret known only to the highest ranking members of the priesthood, but at the end of that time period the initiate finds themselves able to control metal like an extension of their own self.

(Following the test before the Conduit the user experiences a series of visions culminating with what most describe as an encounter with Kokami. The RP'er need not play all this out, although they certainly may. IC however the experience typically changes the character leaving them feeling as though they have had a revelation of sorts.)

Requirements: Path of Steel, Koton, 20 Spirit for stage 2, 40 Spirit for stage 3, 60 Spirit for stage 4, 100 Spirit for stage 5

Strengths:
- For the purposes of using Koton ninjutsu the user gains the following benefits:
> Natural extension: Koton Jutsu of their stages rank count as a rank lower for the purpose of concentration
> Koton Mastery: The user gains mastery over Koton jutsu of their stages rank (ie stage 4 granting benefit up to A rank). They may choose one benefit from the mastery list for free to apply to such jutsu which does not count towards the scaling cost of mastery.
> Gatekeeper to (the realm of) Creation: Speakers have a special connection to Kokami above and beyond other Kodogu. Koton jutsu of the initiates rank are drawn from the realm of Kokami rather than manifested directly by the initiate, although at the end of the day the initiates ability is still a gating factor. As such the time it takes to manifest is halved.
- Metalsense: The user is able to passively detect the presence of metal in their area. At stage 2 the detection is only vague providing general direction. Stage 3 allows the user to have an idea about distance. Stage 4 allows the user to determine size and shape accurately, and finally stage 5 gives the user full information about the metal. How fast it's moving, what it's composed of, how well put together it is (item rank), etc.

Costs: 2 points per stage up to a maximum of 4 stages bringing the user to stage 5

Transplant Costs: N/A (see initial stage)

Keepers (of the Forge)

Description: The Keepers of the Forge, or simply Keepers as they're more commonly known, as the most predominant caste within the Kodogu. While the other paths focus on their own personal abilities in relation to steel, the path of the Keepers focuses on metal itself. Puppetry, or indeed even bukijutsu is predominant within this group of individuals.

Activation: The Keepers of the Forge require a focus in the art of puppetry beyond the norm, or show an aptitude for creation. They must be able to use this aspect of the Kodogu fighting style with a high degree of proficiency. While there isn't any specific event that marks the start of a Keepers path they must meet the requirements (see below).

Requirements: Path of Steel, ability to use puppets whose rank corresponds with the users BL stage (unlocking stage 5 requires access to S rank puppets) or alternatively one item forged by the user themselves of their own rank per stage unlocked (unlocking stage 5 requiring 5 S rank items). If going the puppetry unlock route, 20 in all puppetry attributes for stage 2, 30 for stage 3, 40 for stage 4, 50 for stage 5

Strengths:
- Puppets the initiate uses follow the stat caps of puppets one rank higher than themselves (a C rank puppet behaving as a B rank puppet for limitations). Puppets of S rank have no stat cap. This applies only to puppets of the same rank or lower as the initiates stage (stage 4 affecting up to A rank as an example).
- At stage three the users ability to focus on controlling puppets increases, halving the chakra string/concentration requirements. At stage 5 this increases further from one half to one third.
- While using puppets the user is able to sense the world through their puppet. The cost to activate this ability is 30 chakra per puppet, no maintenance. The user may only have more than one such link for every 5 points they put in puppetry (which will count as one use of their blank skills). The user does not lose their own senses but instead adds on the puppets "new" senses to their own.
- Starting at stage 3 the user is able to create a pyramid-like structure from which to provide support or command their puppets. The structure can move by floating, but only at half the users spirit. It is generally massive, with a length along its base of up to 100 meters although it can also be made smaller. No matter how small it must be large enough to house the user. While the user is within the structure all allied items are considered Kodogu-forged and maintained as long as they are within 100 meters, and for the remainder of the thread if they move out of range. Additionally the user's puppets move more crisply, effectively eliminating any delay between the initiates commands and them being executed. At stage 5 the range on this ability increases to 300 meters, and the user is able to control their puppets as if they were physically present anywhere within this range.

Costs: 2 points per stage up to a maximum of 4 stages bringing the user to stage 5 (100 chakra to create structure, 25 to maintain)

Transplant Costs: 0 (See initial stage)

In the bloodline history, you say Akiragakure. It's Akarigakure.

On Shifter, one of your percentages is a bit...off. A 100% decrease of anything is its erasure. So, a 1000% decrease, such that the 5th stage of shifter offers, is like...so gone, you're a negative space. I believe what you were going for was a 90% reduction, which would leave you at 1/10 your size.

Everything else looks fine.
