Staff Responsibilities


The following are the responsibilities of the various members of the staff. What is included here is what the staff MUST do-failure to comply can result in the loss of that individual's position. Each step up in the hierarchy of staff may also be expected to take up the responsibilities of the positions below them when needed. We'll start at the top and work our way down.

Head Admin - BurningBright
*Creates new sections for the forum as needed
*Alters user group permissions
*Disciplines members of staff
*Final voice on rule clarifications

Section Admins (Creations and RP/NPC
*Leads respective mod teams
*Final authority on rule changes or additions within their sections
*May jointly veto any Head Admin decision; May, with the Head Admin, jointly veto another Admin decision
*Disciplines junior members of staff
*May be promoted to Head Admin ; Only one at a time

Staff NPCer / Moderator (Occupy same level of hierarchy, responsibilities differ; If needed, Moderators can perform Staff NPCer responsibilities and vice versa.)
*Lead Forum-Wide events
*NPC missions/crimes/events, etc
*Settle disputes in the RP section
*Manage the Missions and Crimes section of Creations.
*Manage site Economy and Military system
*Discuss and vote on rule changes or additions (related to RP/NPC)
*May be promoted to Section Admin (RP/NPC) ; Only one at a time

*Moderate and manage Creations section (except Missions and Crimes)
- Includes working with users to make an idea acceptable- DO NOT simply tell a user their idea won't work and leave it alone; your job is to help.
- Includes settling debates between users within Creations section.
- Includes final approval of applications. A-rank and S-rank applications require two approvals, everything else requires 1 unless otherwise stated.
*Disciplines users
*Discuss and vote on rule changes or additions (related to creations)
*May be promoted to Section Admin (Creations) ; Only one at a time

Mod-In-Training
*Assist in handling desired section of staff (may assist with any activities of Staff NPCer or Moderator with supervision except Discuss and vote on rule changes or additions and Discipline Users)
*Approvals only count as half-approval. Cannot approve A or S-rank applications, or any other applications requiring greater than one approval.
*After 1 month, will be promoted to wherever will benefit most from that individual's service, or will be extended for one more month. If two months pass without meriting a promotion, will become a normal user again

All
*MUST treat other members of staff and users with respect in all communications related to this forum; We cannot and will not moderate Skype or Facebook, but via any means of communication on this forum, to include PMs, the Chat Box, or any Threads, you MUST remain civil.
*MUST remain fair and impartial in handling responsibilities. If for any reason you cannot, be it a personal grudge against a person or a relationship with that person, stay away from that individual's things and let other members of staff know; we will pick up any slack if you don't think you can be fair towards a person. This doesn't mean you can't work on your boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse's applications with him/her-just as long as you're being fair about it.
*You get three strikes on the above two points. Fail a third time to follow the above two rules, and you will be removed from staff, regardless of how long you've been on the team, how much work you get done, or what position you currently fill.
*Discrimination based on Race, Color, Religion, National Origin, Age, Sex, and/or Sexual orientation will NOT be tolerated. You get one warning; this is it. Get caught doing any of these, you're not only off the staff, you're banned.

User Rights and Responsibilities


NONE!

Just kidding. As a user, you are protected by certain rights, though these are usually restricted in some way by some other rule (you can say what you like, as long as you're respectful and in no way discriminatory, for example). You also have certain protections against the staff, because, let's face it, we're human too-we make mistakes sometimes. Below are listed your rights and responsibilities as a user.

User Rights


*If you feel discriminated against for whatever reason, let a member of staff know. If it IS a member of staff doing the discriminating, please let another member of equal or greater rank know.
*If you feel a member of the staff is treating you unfairly, please let another member of staff know; be aware, however, that if the reason you are being treated unfairly is a past transgression against the forums rules, the moderator may be justified in being a bit wary. Trust is freely given here, but easily lost.
*If you disagree with the ruling of a member of staff, please contact another member of equal or greater rank within the same area of responsibility (don't ask a Staff NPCer to help out with a jutsu application, for instance). If two members of staff of greater or equal rank disagree with that member, the ruling will be overruled, UNLESS it is written in the rules BEFORE the dispute took place.
- Before contacting another member of staff, you should attempt to explain your position to the one you disagree with. Be respectful in how you explain it; manners go a long way. It's entirely probable that the staff member didn't think about it from your perspective, and may agree with you after an explanation.
*If, for any reason, you have an issue in the RP section, please let a member of that staff know; we are not omniscient, and we do not read every thread, so it's likely we haven't seen it yet.
*If an application of yours has not seen activity from a staff member in 3 days, you may post again in the application to bump it. If it goes another 3 days, please contact a member of the staff. In this case, you may also go to staff members outside of that area of responsibility.

User Responsibilities
